English Sub: Ji Hyun Woo on Yoo In Na’s “Raise the Volume” April 16, 2012 (20120416)
Here it is. Finally! Took forever but love got me through it. 🙂
There is much to squeal over in this program and while I was listening to it for the first time in the car, I thanked the heavens I was alone. My giddy laughter could not be contained.
There are three parts and you have to click “cc” for the English subs. I didn’t mention the program’s name in Youtube because I didn’t want it to be deleted. It’s called, “Raise the Volume.” I have also seen it called, “Pump Up the Volume.”
There is an especially “fun” part in the show in Part 2, when Ji Hyun Woo and Yoo In Na talk about public love confessions. Here is the transcript of that part.
(Starting at 5:23 in Part 2)
YIN: Then how do you meet people?
JHW: I just do.
YIN: You see someone and you just like them?
JHW: Yes. After getting to know that person, I feel like “I like her” so I tell her, and meet her. When I was young…if I liked someone…I told her immediately but as I get older…
YIN: You become more careful, right?
JHW: Yes. It becomes more difficult.
YIN: I agree.
JHW: Yes. It takes a long time to say it now.
YIN: You’re right. You’re right.
JHW: But this person, since his friend said it, the junior pretends not to know him and is avoiding him.
YIN: Yes.
JHW: Is it like this from a woman’s point of view?
YIN: I think there is something like this. Because the friend said it out loud, the girl found out that he liked him. Still…of course she could have been embarrassed since it was said so publicly. But if she had any interest in the guy, I don’t think she would’ve left the party.
JHW: Ahh…
YIN: Rather than leaving the party, she would’ve thought, “Oh, that guy likes me” and felt happy. In whatever expression or location, if a guy that I think well of likes me, it’s a happy thing.
JHW: But there’s something like this too. What do woman prefer between hearing it from someone else or hearing it directly from that person?
YIN: Directly. Directly!
JHW: Directly is better, right?
YIN: Of course if she heard it from someone she would say “Really?” and be happy
but if the person said it directly and confessed…A grand confession or an embarrassed, stumbling confession is good too…Either way if the person confessed directly, that is much better.
YIN: So this guy probably wanted to do directly confess but because of his thoughtless friend- the girl that I acted- his plans failed.
JHW: Yes, he failed.
YIN: Still, if it were you, would you give up?
JHW: Hmm…I think it would depend on how much I liked that person.
YIN: I see.
JHW: Still I think I would at least tell her directly. I would be frustrated.
YIN: Right, you have to at least tell her.
JHW: Yes, you have to at least say something.
YIN: This person too. “Han-eung-eung-sshi,” you should say something at least to that girl.
JHW: Yes, whatever happens you should get at least a yes or no answer.
YIN: Since it could turn out well.
JHW: Of course.
How strange is it that on the day that Ji Hyun Woo came as a guest, there was a story about a public love confession? Heehee. This is like shipper heaven.

Thank you so much for this! I love how both YIN and JHW’s voices are so distinctive, very good for radio haha. And how cute is it that they sorta resemble HJ/BD? YIN is the upbeat, “unfocused” (haha) one and JHW is the serious, dry-humoured one. I love both of them so much! ❤

OK That was totally amazing.
He did EXACTLY what she said she wanted with the confession.
And her giggly reaction now means more – that he fulfulled her wish from the talk show.
The camaraderie between them was so natural – like they had been hanging out together forever. Of course there’s acting going on, even on shows like this. HW kept talking about her script, but, come on! The back and forth was perfect. I can’t think of another word for them together.

I bet there was something going on between these two already before the recording of this radio show. She call him “Yoo In Na’s man”. I doubt that this bit was scripted. It sounds more like she wanted the world to know he was hers. To people who don’t think they’re in a relationship, it sounds like a joke, since he’s the lead actor and she’s the lead actress of QIHM and he was there on that day as her co-host. But to her, it was a declaration of ownership and she was gleeing inside. Another proof that they may have started seeing each other before this show was that he was very comfortable and all touchy feely with her at the press conference. I would have understood that level of closeness if that happened after they had finished filming the drama. But this was at the very beginning of the the drama. So the only explanation is that they
