TTBY Recaps on Hold

My apologies! I have to put TTBY recaps on hold. I’m no longer experiencing pain just on my right wrist but also on my left, and I’m finding it difficult to hold my utensils while eating. It seems to be turning into a serious and continuous problem, and as my real-life also requires me to constantly type away at the computer, I need to find any way I can to give my wrists a break.

I’m so sorry to all the people who were reading the TTBY recaps and/or expecting Arang ones. I was watching the new episodes today for both and I got all excited (they are both getting so good!) and I was determined to recap both. It’s amazing- I really think there is some kind of recap monster that possesses you. I was going to do both dramas, even if the recaps were somewhat truncated to save myself some pain. So I started first with the Arang one and the recap monster was strong enough to keep me from thinking about the pain while I was typing. But when I was eating lunch and the recap monster was taking a break, I almost cried when I realized that I was having trouble holding my chopsticks together for the three seconds it takes to pick up rice from the bowl.

So I’m putting Wed-Thurs day drama recaps on hold until some of this pain goes away. Hopefully it is not as serious as I am fearing right now and I can come back with both TTBY and Arang recaps soon. Why so good, Arang and TTBY? You are such temptations!!!!!

    Although I’m waiting for your recap, I don’t want you to do them at the expense of your health! So please keep this monster recap quiet for some days , it’s an order! XD It will be a pleasure to see you again, when you’re in a better state πŸ™‚

    What about voice recognition software? (The only time I have used it is to ask my iPhone to call my husband.)

    Thank you everyone!!!! Seriously, I’m tearing up here. You don’t know how much I want to recap these dramas and I almost started again like a crazy woman until a sharp pain brought me back to reality. Okay…stepping away from the computer now….

    As much as I love reading your recaps b/c I think your reactions are more closely alined to mine, you really need to take care of your wrists first. Not to scare you or anything, but if you’re crying holding chopsticks together, you may have a serious problem… either carpal tunnel or there’s another one… they don’t always just go away. When I had a wrist problem, I was lucky that it got better with time and OT, but it took 3 months. Again, not to scare you, but I’m worried for you b/c you says your job requires you to type… so does mine and it’s incredibly painful to have to use the computer with wrist pain. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF!!! And if you’re in that much pain, go see a doctor!!!!!!

      I’ve been thinking it’s carpal. My mother also has it and it sounds very similar.

    Jooni, sorry to read about your wrist issues, hope its not serious and get well soon. I do enjoy coming here a lot especially at the Queen InHyun’s time which was when I discovered how much I like coming to this blog.

    I am providing this suggestion to you when your wrist gets healed. Like all of us we do enjoy Arang but I do not think that you have to recap this as it is being done at both dramabeans and koalaplayground. Therefore lessen the pressure and stress on yourself. If you choose to do this, weecap can work. As for TTBY, this show is a trip, a summary of where we are to date with the show (dramabeans recapping being done there as well) and then you can go from there provided that your wrist is okay, still would love your input and spin on this show.

    As I said before I do like coming to your blog, but do not make your health be adversely affected as it affects us. As all still wants you healthy, funny, pretty, wise and well liked. When it is your health don’t feel guilty as you are not disappointing us, you do so when you do not take care of yourself.

    Never compromise your own health for less important stuff.
    It’s simply not worth years of therapy afterwards.
    No idea where you’re based now but you can try the Traditional Chinese method of accupuncture…
    erm it’s kinda like having numerous needles placed into your hands and stuff but it does wonder for pain relief!
    Anyways hope you’ll get better soon cheerios (:

      I tried acupuncture when I sprained my ankle when I was in Korea. It turned out to be scarier than I thought. I don’t think I want to do it again, even though it was effective.

  19. Have you tried using a wrist splint? You may have carpal tunnel syndrome.

  20. Joonni, please take care of yourself–it’s so much more important than recapping!! Have you looked into changing your seated posture? I notice that helps me immensely! (sorry if this sounds like a dumb suggestion….) Here’s an article I thought was a pretty good read on carpal:

      Thank you so much for the article. I’ve been suspecting carpal so I’ve made a doctor’s appointment already.
      It’s not a dumb suggestion at all! I’ve been sitting at different desks, chairs, and positions, trying ergonomic keyboards and mouses…I just don’t think there is anything I can do more at this point except get some rest. And it’s been helping! My hands are no longer numb all day long.

    I had the exact condition because I had typing intensive job and then went home and wrote fiction for an additional 10 hrs. The only true way to get rid of it – carpal – is to limit the activity causing it as much as you are able. It nearly killed me to cut myself off from my personal computer but in a few weeks the pain went away and I was able to resume my favorite activities.

    Hi Joonni: I just read this post. Please take care of yourself. You do not want to do something that is going to cause permanent damage to your nerves or a longer therapy time to help with the inflammation. First your health and then your passion. We will be here waiting until you are better. Thanks again for all your hard work.
