Counting Down To Monday…
Promised to sb that I would get to this interview so here is it.
In the beginning, Kim Hee-sun is explaining her Eun-soo character. She describes Eun-soo as someone who doesn’t tolerate disadvantages very well. Eun-soo is not irrationally selfish. She has reasons for why she acts the way she does. Kim Hee-sun also describes Eun-soo as similar to herself. Let me remind people that Kim Hee-sun’s answers were edited and we can’t know the exact context to which she gave her responses. That is always something to remember with these kind of interviews.
At 0:37, the question must have been about ratings because Kim Hee-sun says that the actors are experiencing/working as if the ratings were 40%. Lee Min-ho laughs and Kim Hee-sun laughs with him. She adds that they are having fun filming. Kim Hee-sun also talks about how her lines from the drama made it onto search engines, such as when she said, “Go to hell,” to Ki Chul.
At 1:15, she talks about how Eun-soo swears in the drama. She had fun saying the lines but it was also hard trying to not come off as crude while saying them. She also goes into the specific line of curses she said in the carriage ride with Noguk in episode three, where she said “Siberia,” instead of the the really awful Korean curse- they made up that curse on the spot. Initially, the swearing was worse.
At 1:56, Kim Hee-sun talks about the age difference between her and the rest of the actors. She has a ten-year difference with the boys, and a eleven-year difference with Park Se-young. It would feel awkward for her to join them if they were all sitting together, drinking tea or something. But she decided it was better to NOT pretend that there was no age difference and just act naturally. At 2:03 she says that thankfully, Lee Min-ho looks young for his age. She pauses as people laugh because I guess the joke is that Lee Min-ho actually doesn’t look young for his age- he looks older than his age. So she looks at him and says to him in explanation, “I said you look younger….,” the implication being that she said he looked younger but no one believed her. Hilarious. That’s why you always get cast with female actors who are older than you, Lee Min-ho because you look more mature than your age!
At 2:44 Kim Hee-sun wags her finger at Lee Min-ho saying that he’s really evil/naughty. They message each other every day or call. They even meet up for tea/coffee in their free time. At this point, Lee Min-ho tries to steal the mic from her and says, “One thing that is for certain is that I am very patient with her.” Kim Hee-sun shakes her head. Nope, although people might think because of her personality that what Lee Min-ho said is true, in reality, if she does one naughty thing, Lee Min-ho pays her back with ten naughty things. But it always seem like what Kim Hee-sun did is worse.
At 3:13 Lee Min-ho responds that even if he refutes her claims, Kim Hee-sun refutes ten times harder, later making him and others believe that yeah, Hee-sun noona was right after all.
This is the same interview with things I’ve already recapped before but just this added to it at 1:22. Kim Hee-sun says that in real life too, she and Lee Min-ho bicke,r like our Imja couple, when they are playing games. Lee Min-ho adds that Kim Hee-sun also swears at him when they are playing games. Hee-sun shakes her head no- Min-ho also swears. Aw, it’s great to see this noona and dongsaeng get along so well. Lee Min-ho has a knack for dealing with older women, doesn’t he? 😉 Come here, Min-ho, this noona take good care of you.

At 3:06, Kim Hee-sun does her camera frame move before Lee Min-ho finishes his lines, causing him to go, as we express in Korean, “dong dong” with his legs, which is adorable- it’s a physical expression of regret and/or impatience done usually very childishly in Korea.

And omg Joonni, thanks for the translation! Just took a break from work and i saw your tweet on this post and … here i am. I love how close they are!!! Hee Sun is such a bubbly woman in real, i’m so glad that she fits into the young cast well. When Hee Sun and Min Ho talks and bickers, they really remind me of siblings having fun together. It’s great that they get along well off set, it’s even better when you think how they can have chemistry even when the age gap is so big, and that Kim Hee Sun is already married (Somehow i rarely see married celebrities having good chemistry).
Just a question… how do they actually still meet each other off set during their free time!?!!! Do they actually have free time while filming this drama? But that’s really nice to hear. Kinda reminds me of Seo Min Jung and Jung Il Woo’s relationship after high kick 1. Even though SMJ moved to the US with her hubby, whenever she’s back, we see pictures of her hanging around with her cute dongsaeng! I love seeing this kind of relationships!!!!
What I understand from the Korean drama filming process is that there is a just a lot of waiting time for actors for the production to prepare for them to get on set and rehearse and film. And considering how Koreans like to not be specific in their language, or overgeneralize, she could have just been referring to one time they met off set. Or maybe she was just talking about in the beginning of the drama filming when they weren’t in such a rush.
We’ve become a strange bunch, haven’t we? Waiting for those gloomy Mondays. 😀

Upon voting on the poll, I don’t think CY will ask ES to stay in Goryeo. He promised her that he’ll send her back and he knows that she doesn’t belong to Goryeo. Maybe, deep inside his heart he wants her to stay but choose to keep it instead and make the most out of the time they’re together. Ohmy. If she won’t stay, I could see a passionate hug between CY and ES or maybe, a passionate kiss? Please? Just once? Do you hear me drama gods!? Just one kiss! One passionate kiss! In Eun-Soo choosing to stay or to leave Goryeo… I can’t read what she’ll do next. Even if she stops denying her feelings, it’s not even sure if she’ll really stay because of that. *takes a glance at the drama gods above*
(Drama gods… GM and NG are already a loving couple. Why not give CY and ES a happy ending?…or not? *whimpers*)

It is interesting that both the actors are outgoing and laugh loving on set, keeping it light.
It’s that giggle laugh, I swear that got me when I watched BOF and the BTS for that.
How can he be that hot when he’s really just a big goofy incredibly good-looking puppy?
His laugh is such a surprise, considering the way he looks. 😀

Joonni! Shat a delightful treat to wake up to, and read over breakfast. Kept smiling as I was reading. I really love these two-on and off the screen. And the numerous polls? how fun. 🙂
Two things I liked about KHS:
1. She seems to be one of those fun people who will always be young at heart, and acts like a playful teenager sometimes.
2. She knows how to play off of LMH, and obviously knows what riles him (in a good way) their interactions together are so natural. So cute when she did the age line at the press conference, and when he says is is “”patient with her”…I wish I could be a fly on the wall during the moment she is testing his oatience. haha.

I thanked KHS’s hubby for not being over control and being a jealous for nothing… well, eventhough it’s not easy to see your beloved wife acting as a love interest of the one of the most handsome man in the world… :-))

It is so frustrating to wish for Monday. You can’t concentrate on anything else, and Monday means the start of crap, but at the same time, your babies…

Also: Most of those polls are unanswerable. The only one I could answer without hesitation was the fact that I hate Jo Il Shin the most. Deok Heung might be the baddest one, but at least he’s efficient and gets shit done and inadventently brings Choi Young and Eun Soo together. But Jo Il Shin? He serves not a purpose except blowing hot air. And then letting his corpse be used to Deok Heung’s evil ends. Even in death he is useless.
Hmm, yes. DH I want to murder but as an addition to the story, love his schemes. But Jo…He was annoying but I did like to watch his funny faces in the beginning.

Can someone help with this? I heard that ES will find out that CY is actually her younger brother. But how does that make any sense? All of this about them finally confessing their feelings will go down the drain if this is in fact true.

Thanks for replying, I had actually figured out it was false after I posted this comment. I realized it was false when I couldn’t find anything on Google and then the reference article said nothing about it. But thanks again, I didn’t think it made much sense anyways.
One thing I’ve learnt is that you can’t believe everything you read especially when it’s on the INTERNET… LOL… but that notion about them being siblings is so ridiculous it’s laughable xD… I won’t even imagine that kind out come for a second..And am glad Joonni cleared this up.
It did sound ridiculous to me, I didn’t believe it but I had to be sure because someone kept asking me if it was false or not. I couldn’t confirm it and by the time I did, I had already asked it on here. But yeah, I don’t believe everything I read & this was just crazy ad made no sense. Yeah I am Joonni cleared it up in case someone else had seen that.

Ok, so this is a bit off topic, but yesterday I went horseback riding with one of my b.f.’s, and during my time at the stables the thought crossed my mind that KHS and LMH had to probably take lessons for those scenes… I could totally relate to ES when she was freaking out over the horse… I freaked out, and wanted to switch to a shorter horse. LOL. But it was this morning when my bum was hurting that I realized that LMH and KHS had to be hurting like crazy after filming and refilming the horseriding scenes…
Ahhh. Sigh. Faith even came with me horseback riding. Super excited we are less than 12 hours away…
*giggle* I would recommend taking a panadol with tea, and going to bed with a hot water bottle. Bonus points if you are able to apply tiger balm. It’s always been the best remedy for me.
Poor actors.. unless they like horse-riding, in which case, they get to have fun and work~
I was taught that the bigger horses usually tend to be more gentler, as compared to the smaller ones, which tend to be more jittery and prone to sudden flights of panic, although this is only a generalisation… The hardest thing about horise-riding is going up to an unknown horse and putting your faith in it… I can only ride horses that I know well, otherwise I have trouble even mounting on them, so so so scary >.<;;
Mine was the opposite…the first horse was bigger…it was a thoroughbred that used to race and he was all sorts of jittery. The smaller one was calm, but with a name like Sir Raleigh, I guess that should be expected. 🙂 I felt a little badly for not trusting the first tall horse enough to go on a trail ride.
Hee, I thought riding horses was exciting but it’s quiet surprising initially at how tall the horses are. Would love to do it again but yes, your thighs and bum are in so much pain after.
It is a bit shocking when you realize how high off the ground you are…and yes, since the pain really is something else…next time I go, I’m taking Nutella’s advice and using those remedies.

So my initial reaction was to squeal because as I said before, I love my angsty, jealous Young and I could tell by the pictures, it is what the written preview was talking about. The news article doesn’t say much about the specific scene except to say that both Eun-soo and Young express their desperate hearts for each other and that we can expect more unexpected “skinship” from Young.

I will never forget this beautiful actress, Kim Hee Sun. No matter what people said about her ages, I think that so far, she is the best and most matching couple with Lee Min Ho compare with all the 3 actresses whose had been acted with Lee Min Ho before.
