Episode 21
Eun-soo stays together with Choi Young as a Woodalchi member. Ki Chul, who is furious with the betrayal, uses Deok Heung to plan an attack on the palace, while Gongmin prepares to attack the domestic party that supports Yuan. Choi Young’s heart, which desires to keep Eun-soo by his side, grows more anxious as each day passes.
Woah, does that mean we might have a slight possibility that Young is going to ask Eun-soo to stay? I can just imagine the scenarios…well no. Brain is too tired right now but can you guys?
I’m surprised that Gongmin’s next plan of action is to fight the the domestic party that supports Yuan, not that because it doesn’t make sense, because it absolutely does, but because I guess I was expecting something a bit more epic in the final episodes. Like a huge battle scene between Yuan and Goryeo with Young in the lead. But I guess this drama is going to keep the conflict small-scale and domestic as it has done all throughout the drama, which makes sense narratively and production budget wise.

Just wanted to know if anyone also follows the forum on Faith in Soompi. There was a post that the broadcast of Faith will be delayed/postponed because of a baseball game? I think they said the article was in Korean. Just wanted more clarification from the Korean speaking posters here.
Is dat so??? its making me anxious coz am already feel like am sitting on needle for ep 21, bt still am bit happy dat it seems there is a possibility for Dr, Jang to be returned on screen!!!!!

This is how I feel every day. What have Faith done to me? What have this blog done to me? I’m re-watch the episodes like countless times. Every day my 4 year old goes ‘Mommy….I see General Choi Young and Dr. Eun Soo every day’. I listen to the Faith OST daily to the point where he screams ‘your music is too loud, MOMMY (practically screaming at the end there). I can’t hear my Team Umizoomi’. HA!
Damn…it’s only Sat afternoon here. It’ll be a decade for me before Monday morning comes around, so I can read Softy’s recap and watch the raw…AAISSHHH.

I only watched the ending of AandM to help softy and I haven’t been able to catch up yet with the middle episodes. I’ve given my interpretation of it at her blog but it wasn’t an evaluation of the ending. I’m actually preparing a huge post about a theme that occurs in Korean drama that was inspired by that ending. So in short, for now before I have watched the drama completely, I will say I liked it fine because my friend helped me understand the meaning behind reincarnation and Buddhist belief. Without it, I think I would have liked it less but still found it satisfactory. How about you autumn?
I was slightly disappointed in the ending! My expectations were probably too high going into it but as I was watching the finale, I felt like it was rather choppy and at times very confusing! The very end with the cute kids and the whole reincarnation thing which gave our couple a much deserved happy ending kind of made up for it though! I still do love the drama overall! I will be looking forward to this huge post of yours ad I will go read your interpretation of softy’s blog next!

Anyhow, I thought about something, hope you can comment to this and share your opinion 🙂
I thought a lot about the future ES.. and I figured out that there are a two. And why:
The first one rescue CY from being burning at the house (the trap, the reason ES was force to marry the uncle).
So, the only way future ES can warn ES is by seeing how CY died, so she found a way to warn ES.
After that, in episdoe 19-20, ES found another letter, pleading her to not give up on CY because she will regret that. Which means, he is alive!
I think ES saw him die once, warn ES to save him, and after that the ES that recieve the diary with the warn save him but after it something happen again to CY so she want back in time again and wrote another letter, the one that saying to ES to come back to the palace.
I really hope that we would found out what was writting on the diary that the uncle burned, and what is the third thing of Hwata..
And who else thinking too that Hwata is actually ES?

If ES went back and left the diary and the note at the waterhole for ES as guides for herself – would she also not know that at the point she was running away with Young that she was poisoned – and would she not leave an antidote for it?
I am thinking that the 3rd item may be a syringe/vial of penicillin in whatever form it needs to be in to last the years – although normal shelf life is 10 years – anyone with medical knowledge? or even something for her to grow Penicillin from!
I agree, that is what I was saying this morning! She left, the Queen died, CY was devastated he did not prevent it, ES got cured and came back and left the plastic film in the rocks. Perhaps she came back with knowledge how to make antidote, because I don’t know about antibiotics shelf life
I am not sure if penicillilin could help her. I don’t remember what the poison was but penicillin is an antibiotic and not the antidote. And I don’t know much about innovations but any drugs can’t last for centuries.
Surely, if Eun Soo could get to Goryeo she also could do something like what you told about. Anyway it would be less fantastic)
What Eun-soo really needs is an antibiotic but since in Goryeo time, they didn’t have a word for that, they are using the word antibiotic.
And yes, even if the third item is an antibiotic, it wouldn’t have lasted that long. 😦 What is going to happen to our Eun-soo?
i think she’ll be back to the future to cure herself..and i wanted CY to go with her to the future even just for a day.. 🙂 i wanted him to experience life in the future and get to know history about himself..at least even if they part, he’ll have the courage and faith to live as a warrior for goryeo..its quite a sad scenario having them parted..though i’m hoping for them to stay together til the end..
A recipe for the antidote would solve the problem. Could this be written in the last pages of her diary?
@gukja, that’s exactly what I think (and hope!) the hidden note is! 😉 the instructions in order her be able to prepare the antidote and stay. That note may be hidden inside the 3rd relic 😉
And,… We have to remember that ES is a scientist… (someone capable to do her own make-up and toothpaste) she could be also capable to make an antidote. 🙂 i’ m holding so bad to that thought to have a happy ending!

Why is Kim Hee Sun’s name Yoo Eun Soo in “Great Doctor”?
“Great Doctor” deals with the love story between female doctor Yoo Eun Soo and soldier Choi Young (Lee Min Ho).
Choi Young lives during the time of King Gong Min and Princess No Guk. Yoo Eun Soo time warps from the present to this particular point, where King Gong Min returns from Won, the dynasty in China, as he plans to revolutionize Koryo. Many other historical figures like Jo Il Shin, Duk Heung and many others appear in the story. It does add fiction to the history but these are many names that the viewers are familiar with.Â
At this point, Yoo Eun Soo’s name is getting the attention of the viewers. By the time Choi Young becomes general, his second wife’s last name was Yoo. It could just be a coincidence but there are stories about how he really loved his second wife Yoo. There isn’t much about his second wife in history so it’s fully possible that people added their imagination to it.Â
In “Great Doctor,” the story emphasizes that Yoo Eun Soo didn’t just end up in Koryo for no reason. Will she actually meet a happy ending in Koryo, next to Choi Young?
I think they’re possibly keeping it small scale, so not to mess with history then again history has already sort of been altered. But maybe they don’t want to do anything too drastic just in case in the end Eun Soo does go back her time and the future won’t be all messed

That bottle he carries around so preciously is ‘aspirin’, not antibiotics. Even if it’s antibiotics…I believe it has to be the appropriate kind of antibiotics…not just any kind.

Every time she does something in Goryeo she was not supposed to do it changes the future, it is called a Paradox. She saved the kid that will kill CY in the future, when CY was talking to him, he even told him how to fight “don’t fight all the guys, just take out the main guy! Big mistake!
I have not seen ep. 21 yet here in Florida is not up yet, but by the commentaries I read. SY is telling ES she saved someone she was not supposed to, this person did bad things. Someone left a note asking to kill her, because she keeps changing the future!
