Some Youngspirin, Please.

It has been one day since “Faith” ended.
It has only been one day since “Faith” ended.
It has already been one day since “Faith” ended.
How are you doing guys? Me? Good. Except when I listen to the “Faith” OST and my heart starts squeezing inside my chest. I think I need a Youngspirin for this.
Faith (Main Title-Choral.Ver)
I don’t know why it hurts so much when the drama ended happily but it does. When I think about Young and Eun-soo, tears come to my eyes.
I’ve written and pondered so much about “Faith.” Yet, I didn’t know how much I would be affected by it or how deep the drama had seeped into my heart. I think the final episode has a lot to do with this feeling. It wasn’t perfect but in my eyes, it succeeded in really emphasizing how much Young and Eun-soo loved each other, how much every (good) character in the drama loved each other, and exactly how incredible their journey has been from episode one to episode twenty-four. All of this hit me really hard and I’m still reeling from the pain and beauty of it. It’s not easy being loyal and faithful. It’s not easy to grow in character or remain constantly good. And it’s not easy to love that much but Do-chi, the Suribang, the Woodalchi, Lady Choi, Gongmin, Noguk, Young, and Eun-soo did it. They stayed true to each another and themselves. They were faithful in their love and care for each other till the very end and forever.
Many of you had lingering questions about the time-travel concept in the drama and I was hoping to get to them as soon as I had time to work it out myself and put it properly into words. But as I expect to not have enough time in the next few days, I am just going to copy here SH‘s awesome analysis she left in the comments for episode 24 recap. I was amazed at how clearly she organized it. THANK YOU SO MUCH SH. You are an angel and genius.
Time Travel:
Maybe this has been explained elsewhere or in the comments here already. But this is how I understand the concept, granted there are a few things unexplained. In chronological orders:
1) One fine night in 2012, Eun-soo gets kidnapped by Choi Young to Goryeo to heal Queen Noguk. This is where Ep. 1 begins.
2) Ep. 1 to 24 is Eun-soo first time traveling and living in Year 1350 Goryeo.
3) Toward the end of Ep. 24, Eun-soo goes back to Seoul to gather medical supplies to heal a frozen Choi Young.
4) After a quick gathering of medical supplies, she goes through the portal.
5) But the portal takes her 100 years back to Year 1250.
6) Immediately after she realizes she’s gone to the wrong time, so she goes back to the portal to try another time-travel. But the portal is already closed.
7) She stays in 1250. She presumably heals a lot of sick people of that era while waiting for another chance to go through the portal.
8) While in 1250, she also leaves clues so that the Eun-soo of 1350 will remember what to do. The writing in her diaries and leaving a message in the film canister.
9) She also has time to figure out time travel dates (maybe not exact times) but at least she knows, from her previous time travel calculations in 1350, what formula and calendar to use.
10) Once she is positive about a date, she prepares herself for another travel through the portal.
11) When she gets to the portal, it is not immediately opened. It takes an unwavering Faith that this time the portal will take her to the right place, only then the portal opens.
12) She goes through it. It brings her back to Seoul. In her voiceover, we hear about this memory, longing and connection that would make her meet him again. Unlike her first time-travel in Ep. 24, this time she doesn’t even glance over modern Seoul because nothing in her heart belongs to 2012.
13) After a mere second in Seoul, she goes back through the portal.
14) This time it takes her to 1355 and there she finds Choi Young. It’s that simple. Time is linear (but circular). She didn’t have any memory of her time travel experience in Ep. 1 because she hadn’t gone anywhere yet. Those clues were left there because her future self in Ep. 24, who had experienced everything from Ep. 1-24, knew the dangers in 1350.
The items:
Surgical tools, diary and mini projector have some significance.
-Surgical tools are to reaffirm the legend of Hwata – an emphasis on Hwata being a myth, a story is told and exaggerated from generation to generation. The 1250 Eun-soo with her advanced medical skills obviously would make people notice and connect her to the legend of Hwata. The myth lives on and on, so that people like Jo Il-shin knows. JIS knows about Hwata’s myth in Ep. 1 and convinces the GM to ask Choi Young to go kidnap Eun-soo in 2012. The story comes full circle. I don’t think Eun-soo intentionally wants to perpetuate the myth of Hwata. It’s more like she’s a doctor and her duty is to save lives, which is very consistent with her character. So while waiting for the gate to open in 1250, she puts her skills to use. This is also where Son Yoo’s grandfather’s story comes in; she saves people who would have died without her 21st century medical skills. In essence, her one year’s stay in 1250 shapes history, like a butterfly effect.
-The diary. She knows from her 1350 self that this diary will play a significant role, so whatever she does with this diary in 1250, Ki Chul will have possession of it in 1350. From the content of the diary, we see some solar flare calculations, which is helpful for her to figure the date to retry time travel. Some notes about what will happen in 1350 based on her personal experiences – Choi Young using his frontal attack and Choi Young is trapped while rescuing the scholars. Eun-soo already has those memories, so she makes notes to herself knowing this diary will find her in 1350 eventually. Everything is circular in away.
-A message in film canister. Again from her 1350 memory, she knows that day Choi Young and her travel to the portal. Without that message, they would have gone to the border and waited there, and effectively everything after Ep. 19 would not happen. Noguk would be killed; the history of Korea would be changed and Choi Young would be left devastated like what is written in that message. So she writes that message in 1250, leaves it under a rock (remember her looking at a direction of where 1350, Eun-soo and Choi Young embrace). Things become circular where there is no beginning or end.
-The mini projector. This one is not directly related to saving Choi Young. It is symbolic to show that there are people waiting for her in 2012 – her mom and dad. When Choi Young asks her to stay, he mentions there are people at the other side waiting for her too, and their journey to the portal reiterates that point. She needs to say goodbye to her parents, to people who love her in 2012. A mini projector of her parents is a way of remembrance, of her saying “goodbye” figuratively. It also solidifies her faith in finding Choi Young. I suspect the reason she can’t get back to the right time initially is because she wavers a little bit. That voiceover about her lacking faith “that day” and her looking over modern Seoul show us that wavering commitment. Thus the portal takes her to the wrong time, to Year 1250. Once she says her “goodbye” to her parents, and putting full faith in finding Choi Young, the portal takes her the right time, to Year 1355.
The question of time and duration:
First time she gets back to Seoul, it seems she has been missing only for a few hours in “modern” time. I suspect when the fortune-teller tells her in Ep. 1, that she’ll be gone for a year, he is referring to her time in “Goryeo”.
But in Ep. 1, we see that Goryeo time seems shorter than modern time. My justification for that is that the portal is unpredictable; it is predicated on Faith and Destiny. Choi Young is destined to meet Eun-soo and take her back to Goryeo in time to save Noguk in Ep. 1.
In essence, the concept of time is intangible; it is dependent upon a person’s faith. It takes Eun-soo a year of traveling to find Choi Young, while daejang waits for her four years from 1350 Goryeo onward.
Eun-soo’s presence in the past is destined to shape the history of Korea that she and viewers know. She believes that Choi Young is alive because her traveling to modernity shows that modern Seoul is still the same, nothing is changed. If Choi Young dies that day, then it would have created a butterfly effect that would alter history.
Like SH wrote, there are still a few things left unexplained. And what makes it harder for us viewers to figure it out is the fact that some scenes originally in the script were cut out. I also doubt Writer Song has it all completely worked out herself. I am a huge fan of time-travel stories and nobody ever gets it all right because we just can’t comprehend as human beings what time-travel is and how it works because of our limited scientific paradigms and vocabulary to express such a complicated process. So undoubtedly, there will always be something left unexplained or some gap in the logic.
So after reading what SH wrote and nodding along to everything, I still have one question that I hope you guys can answer. What about that vision/dream Eun-soo had of Young dying? Was it just a projection of some inner fear that she had of him dying?
I read everyone’s comments to the final recap and because I can’t reply to every single one, I want to express here my gratitude for your thanks and sharing your ideas, opinions, interpretations, scenarios, and analyses. Many made me teary again because you guys showed so much love for the drama, many made me want to hunt you down personally and give a big bear hug for the general awesomeness, and many made my brain tingle. Now I have some new ideas for new posts. I can’t believe there is still so much to say about this drama. Gosh, you guys are so awesome. Everyone should start a blog! Seriously, if you haven’t done it already, you guys should go back and read the comments to the final recap. Lots of things to think about there and lots of things to make you appreciate this drama more. Young orders you to!

only been one day and i’m partially distracted at work bc the theme songs for the show and es and young, has been running through my mind. i can’t really work like this, bc of course i just stop what i’m doing and reminisce all the scenes of faith i loved, and here i am smiling like a loon, chest getting tight and about to cry
Awww, Lidy! Here, honey, have hug. We totally understand…(or maybe I should just speak for myself.Lol)
Ditto… I’m a hopeless case…. I don’t know how many times I heard to Faith’ s OST today, I think at least like 5 times! I have even memorized some lines although I don’t speak korean hahaha. My rehabilitation process failed completely this day! LOL
thanx for the hug. now off to watch faith all over again
just had to play Faith (Main Title-Choral.Ver) above and it brought back all the emotions i had for faith from episode 1 to 24, that i almost cried. i don’t care about the ratings either and even if the Korean public was tired w/ all the time raveling dramas that came out this year, doesn’t mean they should lump it up along w/ dr. jin. now that was just plain bad, and even if it was 4th time travel drama, each one still had their own individuality when it came to the story, so why write it off so easily. lmh better win an award for this!
Hi everyone,
Why there is no season two in Korean dramas? We should ask Hollywood if they would sponsor season 2, wouldn’t that be great?
Everyone pitch in for the money, and I’ll get the whole crew for making the movie!!?? Just let me know, because I do have contact in Hollywood!!! No kidding!!
Thanks a million, Joonni, for putting the Youngspirin up front, every pill is like ambrosia for us, addicts 🙂
This blog has gone viral these days, yay! Though is’s getting harder for me to keep track of everything going on with the comments, so thanks a lot also for sharing SH’s analysis for the time travel aspect, it clarified the mist for me.
That is so cool! It has gone viral? I’m so happy to hear that about Jooni’s blog as I imagine it is internationally…especially considering all the hours they have put into the recaps, and the maddeningly awesome Faith fan girl crowd here! Just hope the whole Faith team-writer Song Ji-Na, director Kim Jong-Hak, Lee MIn Ho, Kim Hee-Seon, ctors, workers, crew, network, etc. know that despite the ratings (which mean nothing to me) Faith was a HUGE hit!
Hola amigas:
Hello friends:
I want to thank you for your welcome/reception (welcoming me), and thanks to Sunshine for the translation, it’s perfect.
My nickname Crisale is a result of my name Cristina and my 7year old son Alejandro, from that Crisale. I’m a single mom, and I’m 26 years old.
You asked me how I watched the series. Actually, I only have subtitles in Spanish through the 13 ep, so I was waiting patiently for you to write the recap to the corresponding episode, would translate it and then I would watch without subtitles.
You’re so precise, with so many details, with perfect explanations if the scenes as well as the dialogue, that when I would see the title, (chapter/ep?) I almost knew from memory what they were saying…or what they were feeling…You did a great job.I would leave open the page on my computer and whenever I had a doubt arise, I would re-read to better understand…Also when I rewatch an episode.
You’r both brilliant!
I’ve known of Faith’s final script from a friend who also enjoys the drama, of how the writer envisioned the ending…Do you know of them?
(¡Crisales, Besos y un abrazo fuerte! Mi familia tiene raizes en Cadiz, España )
Thank Sunshine so much for translating!
P.s. Puedo tener el email de vosotros?
I forgot you can read English. 🙂 Have you trued VIKI.com? All the episodes are fully subbed!
oh yes, and thank you again for creating this place for us, Joonni.
Thank you Joonni for explaining this time-travel process, it all makes sense now. I was soooooo confused as I was watching the final episode. Like you, I’m also having withdrawal…pass over the youngspirin!
I download the ost of faith and keep listening to it over and over because i still have hang over. The best epic drama ever.
Congrtas joonni youve been internationally aclaimed blogger.
Thank you so much now i understand this drama after i read this. I understand the thought of it.

I have to keep myself from listening to the OST or I get all weepy again.
Querida Sunshine:
Voy ahora mismo a buscarlos. Gracias, gracias y gracias… Un abrazo…¡Que feliz soy!
Hola, buscalos en http://www.d-addicts.com (aparecen bajo el nombre “Faith”) un abrazo 😉
Thank you so much for the time travel explanation. It helped a lot!
I wanted to say that your fangirl brandname is much better – Kisspirin beats Youngspirin 😉
Heehee.I love “youngspirin”, but “kisspirin”was so cute.
This comments will silence my thoughts concerning filming. As for Joonni & Softy as always’ your comments has it’s tenacity as a writer. You have to give them all a benefit of doubt as the writer’s/cinematographer & Actors/Actress collaborate on “one” story to entertain us as viewers! I assure you, it’s not easy because I’ve lived it thru out my life and have been their shoe. Main story line has to be well developed to assure it’s lively, and to keep it entertain w/ a little bit of everything. The downfall on this drama is a little bit of everything that escaladed into editing/cutting corner/rushing or deleting some episode. For those that are not “Asian”, will not understand the concept of the story in the beginning. But will be intrigue in the title and manage to indulge into the story of the history & drama its self. I wish they could have elaborated more on things that mattered, but a drama has to end, good or bad. After watching QIHM drama, my thought was “this is very good Entertainment”. This drama has the capability of raising the bar and creating its own ideal destiny of “GREAT”. “Faith” had that tenacity in the beginning of the drama, but along the line it started cutting corner of editing shooting and other things that was rushed. A lot of the viewer’s was mesmerized “including myself”, to the ideal of a “Great Warrior, King & Queen” meeting ideal doctor of 2012. I think this drama can survive it’s scrutiny from anyone, including myself. The cause and effect of two diligent writers will out weigh the odds of “Faith” and that will justify and carry the story its own charisma. Thank you both
I feel like I’m the only one who was dissapointed by the ending, and the drama. I did enjoyed it, at the beginning, but I just didn’t like the second half. Oh well, I still love Lee Minho!
no worries. i also didnt like the ending. im glad they did ended up together, but if only they could make it more..Intimate. i knw the -starring-each-other-thing is enough for some people. but as for me, i prefer a dif taste. this is why, i still feel like there’s a “hole” whenever i remember Faith.
I get that the writers have less than a week to write the script sorta thing, and that is a lot of pressure, but if that’s the turn they wanted to take (her going from past to past), why couldn’t they taken some of the other repetitive stuff out (Her being poisoned twice, bringing another bad guy) and give that concept some time? I actually liked it, because she became patient, she wasn’t selfish, she changed. I would’ve like to see her journey (and his too) waiting to meet each other again. Oh well…
I totally agree with you except I am not disappointed with the ending though. .
well at least they ended somewhere… (Not in timespace limbo longing for each other LOL)
Dear OmoDomo,
Don’t feel bad, I am not like the ending too. But Do love the faith and LMH include KHS. But But it is too rush to the end. I feel kick out from horse while riding. It may because of Philip Lee was missed suddenly. who knows.
Oh according to Dramabeans, Phillip Lee had an eye surgery/injury and he couldn’t shoot the last episodes. But the reason they gave for his absesnce, being killed, not cool! They could have said that he had a family emergency and the king let him go! Not kill him! I will always remember the first 8 episodes..the rest I’ll try to forget -___- lol. No offense, but that’s my decision.
The whole drama was very enjoyable. It was a long journey for the main characters. Thank god they end up together after such a long time. This is the only period kdrama which I found enjoyable.
Thanks Joonni for posting my comment 😀
Apologize for some grammatical errors here and there.
I think her dream is just that…a dream. And is Son Yoo another time-traveler? Hmmm…I actually have a pretty good theory on that part. But it’s just a plausible theory in need of some more onscreen evidence to justify this theory. I’ll share my thoughts on that later 😛
I agree with you SH, about her dream being just that… I believe it was a warning in advance (like a premonition). Her dream maybe was triggered by her fever and her fear of loosing him. Because of that “vision”, she was able to see the impending danger and take appropriate measures before it happened. I also believe that she didn´t change the course of their history. The decision we saw that she made, was the same action she took (future ES). For me, all that was already part of the history…
The decision we saw that she made, was the same action she took (as future ES). For me, all that was already part of the history…
Hmm, that’s what I figured. Thank you for your input!
Really? I did think that she changed history. Because in the film canister she leaves for the future her, she says, “Maybe if on that day, I hadn’t left, the Queen wouldn’t have died, and the King’s heart might not have crumbled.” So technically she did change history. At least in my point of view. Because it was Choi Young that found the Queen. If Eun Soo had taken Choi Young with her, no one else would’ve found the Queen. Eun Soo also said in the note, “Don’t be like me and run away. Even if it becomes your last day.” Which means Eun Soo is taking a different course of action. Maybe the in the her dreams where she saw Choi Young dead might really have happened had they continued on. Maybe some of Gi Cheol’s soldiers might have captured them. Maybe some of the “bounty hunters” (using that for a lack of a better word, sorry) found them and killed Choi Young. Who knows? But for the most part, I do think she changed history.
Wait… I lied, sorry. Yeah. She didn’t really change history, she shaped it with her experiences before (or after? what would you classify her going back 100 years as? hm). So, maybe what she did was all a part of history? Maybe she was meant to make mistakes then clean them up? UGHHH it’s all so confusing. Really, I think we need the screen writer’s input on this.
@Gene, I know! Sometimes thinking about theories gives me headache! LOL
I believe that her experiences are all supposed to happen in order to shape the history as we know (“fantasy meet history”). that’s why I said “all that was already part of the history”.
I really think that it was a dream (premonition). And since CY is an important figure of history who we all know that he didn’t die until 72 yrs old… therefore, she was supposed to be there at that precise time to “save him”. So, she is already part of history without knowing it. (another time she “helped” to forge the story as we know it, it’s when she saved the boy who later will order CY execution… and also when she saved the queen… two times).
I don’t know… it’s confusing… I better stop, if not I will have a headache again! LOL
LOL yes. Too confusing. It’s really weird. Oh well. Lets just be happy that it was a happy ending! 🙂 I was trembling at the end because she was separated from Choi Young! I wish they showed more of what happened after they meet 5 years in the future from when Choi Young was dying. It was like that in City Hunter too. Well, it was a little more obvious in Faith, but still. I wish in City Hunter that they showed a little more of the future. T.T At least Faith ended well. I’m happy with that. 🙂
Hi SH, thanks for your brilliant analysis I really luv it. You make reasonable concepts here. Can’t wait to read your next theory.
Hi all,
Has it only been ONE day for you all? It feels much longer for me (perhaps its the time difference but its the morning of Friday as I type this)…
The past few days were agony….I close my eyes and all I could see was CY in the last few minutes of EP24 staring back at ES…the look of love in those eyes were amazing…makes me hope desperately that I can see that look perhaps directed at me in future (I shall not be greedy, the look doesnt need to come from LMH…I mean if I need LMH, the tablet and pause button would help)…
while working at my desk I would SIGHHH…the amazing love story between CY & ES is just lingering in the background…it is very difficult to deal with the kind of work I am doing when I keep thinking of their amazing love…
Regarding the time-travel bits, I still do not understand it. Why does ES need to leave clues when she returns to (Goryeo-100 years)? She has already experienced everything that happened in Ep1-24, so is she leaving clues for another ES who hasnt time travelled yet or is she leaving clues for herself who has yet to travel? This is freaking confusing…and if she can time travel right, why does she bother to leave clues, cant she just time travel and save everyone at the right moment??? I think i will have to rewatch Faith, there’s probably clues that I am missing??
i read about the additional scene that was not shown on TV. I actually think its better this way. By not showing that scene, it makes the viewers wonder whether ES & CY ever do end up together…basically the viewers are sharing ES & CY’s feelings at this point, wondering if I will ever see her/him again…which makes the final so much more poignant, doesnt it?
am hoping to spend this weekend re-watching faith…perhaps it will help with the longing? or perhaps Joonni would help with more posts on faith? 🙂
She’s leaving notes for herself who HASN’T traveled in time yet. Because of all the mistakes she made in the future (past? Still not sure about what to call the 100 years in the past. Her past? Future?), she’s hoping that the herself before all the experiences can go back and change them. And the thing that your missing is that the Heaven Door only opens at a specific time to a random place. She can’t control where she goes. She also can’t control when it opens. Do you get it now? Hope this helper. 🙂
This should probably go in Keeping the Faith 2, except it is really something I noticed at the Ep. 24 and it is rather esoteric. The shape of the paisley is something I hadn’t seen naturally occurring anywhere until now. What I really noticed at the end of Ep. 24, when Young’s eyes are smoldering and joyful, were their perfect paisley shape – just one more thing that makes them the most amazingly expressive and beautiful eyes I have ever seen.
for me i think that dream is a glimpse of what will happen if ES do not act they way she did after dreaming about it. perhaps the dream worked as a motivator and drive behind ES’s firm will to eventually abandon the present and choose Goryeo. the dream also functioned as a symbol of CY’s love for her and what will happen to him if she walks out of his life. i don’t think CY is dead in the dream. but its a description of how his heart will die and he will return to his non-living state before ES taught him of how to live. and that scared ES the most – the fact that CY won’t be able to live his life to the fullest as a general, warrior and protector of Goryeo. and that alone is a strong motivator for ES. it shows how selfless our girl ES is. and why their love is so epic transcending time and era.
anyway, that is just my two cents. somebody might see it in a different light.
hi joonni dear i need some too, that youngspirin:( faith for me for the past 3mos. has been my energy booster can’t go to work without watching it first, i’m even married for 9 years with 1 kid goodness, it’s just wonderful that my husband wasn’t jealous of our daejang:) just want you to know that you beacame an inspiration i even want to go back to school to take up journalism,,,ohh joonni i can’t see you personally but whenever i read your writtings it seems that your such a very smart person, very polite, a romantic one also. tnx dear your awesome God Bless You.
Woah, what an awesome compliment. Thank you!
Hi Daejang Joonni,
Been so busy, so just read this post today. Thank you and SH so much for the detailed analysis on the whole time travel conundrum. SH, you are amazing and so talented as well! I was also very enlightened and amazed with all the other aspects/characters you’ve written on Faith (Parts 1-4). It was a great bedtime reading for me…hee. Thanks again, SH.
What a coinkidinki…like Pam and Jhen, when I got to the part where you wrote ‘…hunt you down personally…’, I can feel my heart racing and thinking ‘oh crap, is she talking about us gutterbuds using this blog to fangirl…I already used up my ‘time-out’ card once or twice’. Then I continue and phew that wasn’t it at all. You have nothing but love and hugs for your fan:). You mentioned that Softy wears her heart on her sleeve; I’m thinking maybe our Daejang Joonni does too. It’s in your writings!
Thanks again, Daejang Joonni and Vice Captain Softy, for all your amazing and poignant live recaps/completed recaps and posts. Your outstanding writings and interpretations for Faith have enriched my love and enjoyment for the series so much more. Your hard work and dedication week after week is so admirable. This ride with you and everyone here on your blog is one journey I’ll always remember fondly. Daejang Joonni, you are an angel for giving us a place to just hangout, converse, fangirl and go cookoo over Hot Lee Min Ho. Everything I experienced on your blog is an unforgettable one!
I look forward to visiting you here again and hopefully can be here to witness and be a part of you reaching the 2 million hit in record time! Aja Aja!!!
P.S. I haven’t been able to catch up on all the comments in all the various posts since Faith ended, so I’m not sure if someone already asked you. Therefore, sorry if this is a redundant question that you’ve already answered. I know you’re overwhelming exhausted after Faith, so I was wondering if you plan on taking a break now that Faith ended. If by any chance you’re not, do you know what Kdrama you’ll be recapping next? Is ‘Missing You’ a possibility?
P.S.S. Now, please pass the Youngspirin bottle, Daejang. I think I’ll need an overdose amount of it. Hopefully, the ingredients will give me side effects that will feed my Faith addition and take me straight to gutterland…LOL
Sorry, for some reason, this part didn’t show up.
P.S.S.S. Gutterbuds/Faithfuls, love you all!!!! ***BIGGEST HUGS EVER***

Miss ya gukja! Saranghaeyo!
xoxo
thx and ditto, Juliane! see you over at ‘Keeping the Faith 2’!
I was thinking Missing You cuz I love Yoochun and Yoon Eun-hye but after I saw the trailer, I kind of wanted to run away. I normally love melodramas but it looks more makjang that I like and I’m really emotionally exhausted after Faith right now. Maybe if I can recover enough in the next few days.
Joonni,
What do you mean when you say a drama is makjang? I’ve seen the word in some other posts but could not get the the gist or meaning from the discussions. Just wondering.
A drama is called makjang when it basically throws in every plot twist it can for viewer ratings. For a more detailed explanation, you can go here. http://belectricground.com/2011/04/11/korean-language-and-culture-series-makjang/
ahh…now I know what that means now..nah..I can’t watch it for now even I like yuchoon & eun hye (in acting yet I dont feel any chemistry between them..) it seems I can’t jump to another drama after this faith dellusions for I still cannot manage to breathe normally & still stuck on a denial stage that Faith is really over T_T (sobs..) I can’t accept it yet.. for now I am faithful LMH fanatic..I can’t look for another drama to watch except for his new project..
Thanks for that link Joonni. Exactly the type of drama I would avoid. If ever I watch something like that, I just fast forward and end up watching a 16 episode drama in one sitting. Then I just forget about it. Still cannot find anything to replace Faith.
Hi Matilda!
Have you watched QIHM? I’m going to. Lot of people are saying that it’s a very good drama. If you haven’t seeing it, you should give it a try 😉 Also, the drama Ojakkyo Brothers, people are saying to me that it’s good (I will watch it after QIHM)
But, I personally believe that it will be very hard for me to fill the emptiness left after Faith ended 😦
If you have not watched Arang and the Magistrate, I would watch that. The character of Lee Jun Ki (or Lee Jun Gi as he seems to call himself on his show JG Style) is somewhat similar in his temperment but the eventual love for Arang. It is, now a totally different show- much more humor – much more creepy and supernatural- but I loved it. It was blogged on Dramabeans. Jooni started it but didn’t finish.
Oops error. I meant to say character of Lee Jun Ki is very similar to Choi Young in his initial dislike and irritation by Arang, however, grows to love her and sacrifice a great deal for her. Although somewhat of a romantic comedy, has a lot of pain, sadness and sacrifice- set in Joseon era.
Hi Daejang Joonni,
Oh really. I didn’t realized Missing You was that. I thought it was going to be a nice fluffy melodrama, because I’ve only seen posters of it. I haven’t seen any trailer yet. I wasn’t interested in any of the dramas currently airing, so was looking to see if any upcoming ones look interesting and came across Missing You. Also, I just heard about the ridiculous controversy surrounding this drama, so I’m wondering if it will premiere next week.
In any event, I’m still in Faith Fever mode myself. Therefore, I fully understand that Faith have left you drained emotionally **sigh sigh***. I can’t blame you for not taking on Missing You if it’s going to be one hell of an emotional ride.
Whatever you decide to take on as your new project please let us know:).
Thank you much Joonni!
Jhen, what’s your fb? Will add you and fangril together lol.

i don’t know ladies if that’s really true..but the admin of We Are minoz Fb page..jominz is from seoul i think..and she attended that fan signing event..so she really heard it personally..i don’t think she would joke about it..
however, as what our other pledged sisters here wanted, hope our dae jang will take some time to rest first before he starts with that new project that he mentioned..
I stil don’t know adesanti if what kind of story it would goes coz I’ve just read it in one of softy/joonnis comments he just mention it in one of his interview that he is interested in making that kind of character..that is definitely fit to him well I’m looking forward to it..
jhen says that he has accepted another project so our anxiety will not last that long wink wink noona fangirl hehe this will be another classes for all of us here & joonnis another million hits woohoo lets just make uri LMH to take a break for a while..
am really wondering what kind of character he’ll do next..
Any idea ladies?..
thanks much hyka! you’re a filipina also? hehe so there’s a lot of us here.. lucky you! me, i’m one of those unfortunate one to see him on that day..argh!! if only not for my work and if only i happen to live within manila area, i would be first in line to watch his bench meeting..
yah! i’ve already seen his latest photos on his Trugen Fan Signing Event..
hi there… count me one too.. am also a Filipina… its so good to know this 🙂
2 days after the official announcement of Lee Min Ho’s visit here in the Philippines as the new Bench Ambassador which will be held on Nov. 16 at the Araneta Coliseum, tickets were already “SOLD OUT”. Can’t believe it, that was way too fast in a span of just 2 days… I guess that just proves how much his “Pinoy fans” loved him. The moment everyone learned of this event, they rushed to all Bench stores to get those tickets. Too bad for me, when i hurriedly went to secure a seat for this event, it’s all too late. Tickets were all sold out, but i’lll be doing all the possible ways to get there.. Best of luck for me.. 🙂
Hi Jaq! Do you still want to get invites to the Bench LMH fan meet? See “joonni’s faithfuls” fb page for details. Or email me: stine_sy@yahoo.com
(Sorry for plugging this here, Joonni. You can delete this if you don’t like it.)
Faithgirl – Jaq hi! best of luck to you 🙂 hope you’ll get to buy a ticket for the fan meeting..have you contacted quirkstine? she’s got some tickets for sale..
Yup jhen I’m fortunate enough to have invites but unfortunately I only got to have the upper box level..patron tickets has gone so fast im just lucky to get the last 5 invites T_T but it’s ok..better to have that than nothing to have. Dont worry ladies ill try my very best to get a clear captions of him.. 🙂
ME…ME…ME…guilty as charged here! There haven’t been a night since Faith ended that I haven’t watched some part of series. I can’t seem to hit the sack unless I get a dosage of the Imja couple, especially Daejang! God, I miss the woodalchi puppies. Sometimes when I first lay my head down to sleep, I swear I can hear Imja say “Are you there?” and Daejang answers “I’m here”. I would put a pillow over my mouth and sob quietly not to wake up the hubby. I have gone beyond nuts!!! When am I going to get my sanity back???? Seriously, I can’t explain the addiction…
OMG Gukja, you do really need a lot of youngspisins… Ckckck… ‘N make sure you get the kisspirins too… LOL
Just leave one for me too 🙂
LOL, Ann! Yeah, if only youngspirin came with a Daejang to feed it to me via kisspirin… I’d take it like candy!
**handing you a youngspirin***
i saw a pic posted in fb with lots of youngspirin bottle as give away for dae jang’s fans i think..it was filled with LMH’s fave candy, lemon something, forgot the name of that candy..hehehe
haha really. so Daejang likes ‘lemon’ candy eh. Good to know! Thanks for sharing, Jhen!!!
welcome gukja..hehehe
Watch this newest Faith MV, towards the end our Imja say “Are you there?” and Daejang answers “I’m here”. 🙂
W
onderful,thanks for sharing!
Thank you very much for sharing, l love this..
This song will be for ever etched in my heart & mind. Thank all
gyaaa… Noo… this clip will bring my “faith fever” back! aahhh…
we want Faith the Movie!! cant get enough of Imja couple!! :((
Ok! I’m crying again watching at this MV! I love how the chosen scenes match very well with lyrics. Thanks for sharing… Great MV !
awww..this MV left me bawling.. 😦 i missed the imja couple..
Love the MV. 2012JHJ, the one who made the video is really talented. I’ve subscribed on his youtube channel before this..all his Faith’s OST MVs are good..
wow.. wonderful mv lyrics are really match w/ the scenes..T_T it triggers the anxiety over LMH..im missing him like an idiot..
Goodness, this video made me ‘snif snif’ the entire time I watched it. The dialogues had me bawling even more. Nonetheless, I love this video.
Thanks a million for sharing with us ***sobs sobs sobs****
luv this video so much… i missed our imja couple…thanks for sharing this video…
hi don’t worry pledged sister gukja just hold on jhen says uri LMH just got another project. Count 1,2,3 months & we will see him again ahihih..can you still wait that long?…for a while take 3x daily of your fave scenes in faith to give you sanity.. 🙂 that’s what I’m doing ryt now.. Aish.. hoping he’ll do it ASAP before many of us gone crazy..
‘crazy’….i’m already there…LOL
Yes, rewatching on big screen through dramafever and viki to read the comments. Hilarious, the comments.
I don’t know if you all agree but it is my opinion that when LMH smiles, he is the handsomest person on earth. (His smile when he first hugged the young king and his smile when KHS was singing to the young king are the two perfect examples.)
I concur!!! Any smile like that should be ILLEGAL, because it can kill a girl. Yeah, he smiled so brightly when he hugged the little King. His eyes also sparkled like diamonds! ***fanning self****
He sure have a killer smile! It is so dazzling that sometimes I forget to breathe… LOL .That smile + his deep voice + his height + his gazes = dangerous and deathly combination LOL
LOL..you said it. Ladies you have to learn how to breath easily..breath IN..and then don’t forget to breath OUT..or you’ll turn purple!!LOL
Let me add a few more attributes to your LMH hotness equation here:
killer dimples + sexy wanna -run-your-hand-through hair + hearty sultry lips
***fanning self with the biggest paper made fan ever****
oh my gosh! i love watching him smile, with his heart shaped lips and those killer smile, his expressive eyes..awtsss! i’d meltdown easily..
I miss the drama and its casts as well. Thank God for this website. It’s like a place to go heal and rejuvenate the aching heart. I think the reason why this drama for me is so endearing is because memorable characters were played by the right actors. People are just inundated with so much negative stuff in the world that we are just rooting for a happy ending and good trumping evil. It’s good to see the Imja Couple so committed to each other they’re willing to do anything for each other. The Royal Couple as well embodied a love so pure you can feel it through the screen. It’s only natural to miss characters you’ve taken a journey with and had depicted most of our basic hope in life: finding true love, fought for it and get to keep it. Please pass the Youngspirin.
i am so stoked for his apparent new project – if this is true (see above)! i’m hope it’s not some false booboo to cheer up us faithfuls…
Ive still not watched the last episode yet because my heart cant take the pain that its ended!!! T____T
Arooj, its more painful not to watch it yet..hehe watch it while you can still catch up with the fan girl moments coz if you watch it later, you’ll never feel the excitement that we had now and will regret having no one else to share with your feelings about the ending.. 🙂
Hi fellow readers… and jooni… I’m glad i can find this blog…and real all witty comments here. But if you all don’t mind. I have one question regarding the history told by eun soo in the drama.. when she said there is a monument build for choi young in korea. Where is it exactly?? Is it the place with fountain that appear in city hunter? The first day when lee yun seong come to korea? If I’m not mistaken i notice a monument there… an
There are actually quite a few monuments to Choi Young, but the one ES is talking about is here:

Joonni, I just saw your top 10 drama list. Faith is another saguek-fusion drama so where is it in your updated top 10 list?
its gonna be on top of joonni’s list..right joonni? hehehehe
Hi, i saw this info by chance, that there ll be a sequel of faith on Nov 5th:):):) just wanna share this info:):)
http://kr.celeb.yahoo.com/news/faith-kim-hee-sun-reunites-with-lee-min-004747890.html
That was a wrong word that they used “sequel”. What they meant was that the new drama taking over the Faith slot next week will be “Drama King”, a new Kdrama not related to Faith at all.
Oh, then its not Lee Min Hoo Drama???
No, not Lee Min Ho
drama king will b played by Choi Siwon theat suju members. and the girl from my name is kim sam son. the skinny one. so sorry i forgot her name 🙂
This might not be that relevant but here’s my thought on whether Son Yoo is a time-traveler:
Yes, he was a time-traveler at one point in his life, hence the pocket watch. But he stopped being one after he lost faith in humanity. His speech at Ki Chul’s house led me to believe that he had time-travel to the three kingdom period and did all the things he believed that would help to expand Korean territory. Something must have happened to SY at some point in his life to make him lose faith in his people, in his “homeland”. In the end, like Ki Chul, Son Yoo’s lack of faith stopped him from entering the portal again.
This is just a theory since Song Ji-na didn’t really elaborate further on Son Yoo’s story. Nonetheless, I really like how Writer Song used time-travel in Faith; in general, all the dots are connected and explained logically.
SH, can you email me your email address at scatteredjoonni@gmail.com?
There is something I would like to ask you personally.
You have a good point SH.
Maybe when Son Yoo told CY that ES could cause his death, SY knew that the boy she cured/ saved (Yi Seonggye) will be the person to order CY’s execution around 1388.
So, yes, i second your theory about SY being a time-traveler (from future). But, I believe he is not from 21st century but maybe from 18th or 19th century (his clock seems to be antique)… What do you think about this??
Weewww… SH I think you are so talented as well as Joonni ‘n Softy… You give us analysis that I don’t even think that far.
Why don’t you write and make some blogs like them, or maybe you had already.. Please share to us!
SH, very talented as usual. You’re right, sist..
From what i read (soompi already released this script), according to Writer Song she said :
1. Sohn Yoo is also a time traveller.
It explain about his pocket watch and his strong will to keep Yuan steady, because maybe he already knew that someday, Yuan will fall, so he plan to delayed the process of even canceled it.
2. Sohn Yoo’s character made by Writer Song, because she remember a person in the history, named Gao Xian Si.
Gao Xian Si was a Goguryeo decent, his real name was Go Son Ji, a bloody General from Tang Diynasti. He has the similiar history like Choi Young, the Great General of his time. He even counquer the Kaspian Sea. He also was beheaded by his loyal follower, just like Choi Young.
Hi chikoku, Thks for this info!. Could you please share the link where they translated writer Song explaination about Sohn Yoo. I didn´t see this info in the extract translated that I read before.
Hi sussie..
Beside Joonni’s blog, i’m also following tirza’s blog, written in Indonesian. Tirza always digs and search the real history behind k-drama, especially saeguk. She does the research from many sources, conclude, and then write the result in her blog. So, most of my knowledge about real histroy of saeguk come from her. She is a trusted source for real history behind k-drama.
From what i read, she’s also get the real script from her friend. Here is the link she wrote about Sohn Yoo, http://www.kadorama-recaps.blogspot.com/2012/11/dansaguan-sohn-yoo.html You can use google translate.
thks chikoku 😉
I will try to translate using google… at least for a general understanding hahaha
You’re very welcome Sussie, i hope tirza write in correct Indonesian, so you dont have any trouble to read the translation.. LOL
By Reading Joonni’s blog, we’ll get more in love to our daejang’s act and story line. But by ready tirza’s blog, we’ll get more in love to our daejang in his real life and story. What a great combination. For me, now i cant survive without these two blogs. Ottoke !!
Hi guys.. I have read somewhere, here, but I forgot in which part of joonni’s blog, your comments about LMH mustache, I tried to find but.. You know there are so many comments, so I lose it!
Here a picture of LMH, he did have an original mustache. The picture told us, it was in the morning, he’s probably jogging with his staff, so we can be sure his original mustache.
Take a look :
http://m.lockerz.com/s/258148523
Definitely not his most flattering
Sorry, accidentally pressed the post comment button. I meant to say that the last photo isn’t his best look but he’s still kinda cute. As for the stache… Rawr. Hott stuff.
It’s okay quirkstine..
Here is another picture of his mustache, I hope it’e better than before :

He is more manly, isn’t he? I hate to see him so beautiful.. Hehe..
Thanks, Ann.
I actually saw this look in the BTSv video. He’s so goofy and cute here. No matter how he looks…facial hair or not….at the end of the day still ONE HOT DAEJANG in my eyes ***swooning***

I am going through some Faith withdrawals…thought to come hang out here and see if anything was available to help me…BUT, then I went and clicked on the ost…then all these feelings came back again…watching Faith was like a whole different world for me, I actually felt as if I was there almost like a fly on the wall watching things as they happened. I don’t think I ever felt this “involved” with any of the other dramas I’ve watched, as I did with Faith! I will have to say thanks again to Jooni & Softy because reading the live recaps and all the comments made it a surreal experience with me!!! in my native samoan language, Fa’afetai Tele Lava!!! loved every minute of Faith and reading the recaps…I love coming here knowing that I am not alone and am kdrama’s biggest fan!!!woohooo….
Hi Ruthie, luv ur idea of posting this info randomly all over page, hoping that everyone will see it:):):) Yaahh, Min hoo is so lucky to have fangirls like this:):):) b/w am on my way to vote infinitely for Our Daejang:):):)
It’s a terrible idea. Once is enough.
Yup, i realised it when i was checking my mail!!!!
