Just a Little More of “Faith”

Around this time last week, I was waiting anxiously for final week of “Faith.” I can’t believe a week has gone by already because I’m still not ready yet to let go. I’ve been so lucky this year to have four dramas I obsessed about- “Shut Up Flower Boy Band,” “Queen In Hyun’s Man,” “Faith,” and “I Live in Cheongdamdong.” Each time it has been hard to let go but I must say “Faith” is the hardest for me. It has been a long and intense three months and there is still so much I want to think about with “Faith.”

People have asked for “Faith” rehab but how can you ask it from someone who was just as addicted? 😉 So here is a little more “Faith” to help ease the withdrawal step by step.

Faith Episode 17 Making Film

At 0:18 when Ryu Deok-hwan starts talking to the camera, he points to Se-young, saying, “She said she has no strength right now.” He starts to explain, “Se-young did an interview,” but Park Se-young pulls at his arm, whining “Sunbae-nim” and asking him to stop. She doesn’t think he should talk about that now but Ryu Deok-hwan thinks the story is funny. Se-young shakes her head no.

At 0:29, the cameraman remarks, “You love King Gongmin very much.” Se-young replies, “Yes. Of course.” Glaring at Ryu Deok-hwan, she says, “I have to love him forever.” Ryu Deok-hwan points out to the cameraman, “See how she gritted her teeth while saying that.”

At 1:25 Deok-hwan is playfully teasing Se-young, saying that she normally greets him with a casual pat on the arm instead of the small bow she gave just moments before. He thinks she did that just for the camera.

Later in the clip, Kim Hee-sun and Lee Min-ho play “Rocks, paper, scissors” to see who gets the shoulder massage while memorizing the script. Lee Min-ho gets the first massage and at 2:22, Kim Hee-sun comments to the camera that this is something that sixty-year old seniors do for each other.

At 2:27 Lee Min-ho is memorizing his lines when Kim Hee-sun tries to confuse him by feeding him different lines.

I love how happy Hee-sun is when she wins the massage. Adorably squeal-y. I also can’t imagine kissing so many times in front of so many people, especially when the other people’s job is to basically gape at you. Actually, it might be more uncomfortable for the onlookers even if they are professional extras. If I were them, I wouldn’t be able to keep myself from just staring at Lee Min-ho’s kissing technique.

Faith Episode 24 Making Film

At 1:35 the director is assuring Lee Min-ho that he looks good in the beard. Lee Min-ho in return imitates flapping ears which in Korea indicates that he is someone who is easily persuaded by others. I’m assuming that Lee Min-ho wasn’t sure about the look until people kept on telling him he looks okay.

Lee Min-ho then asks to look at the camera screen. He looks and remarks, “I think I have to wear the armor,” implying that he thinks the beard won’t look good until he gets into the more suitable armor instead of the modern clothes he is wearing now.

Faith Last Day of Filming

During Lee Min-ho’s interview starting at 0:22, he thanks the production staff who worked very hard during the six months of filming. He also regards the relationships he made with all the other wonderful actors as precious. He also wants to thank everyone who worked on the drama, as well as the fans. He says, “Thank you,” and bows.

During Kim Hee-sun’s interview starting at 2:02, she says she thought she would feel very relieved after the last scene was shot but she actually feels very sad. Some of staff were crying, which made her more sad. She also says she thought about how difficult it was filming during the hot summer and the past six months passed through her head like a filmstrip.

SBS’s “Open TV Viewer’s World” (November 2, 2012)

This show had a brief section on “Faith” for its finale. I can’t find clips of it online so I’ll just do a very brief recap of the interview and scenes I thought were interesting.

“Faith” was the first time Ryu Deok-hwan had a leading role in a terrestrial station drama. In his brief interview, Ryu Deok-hwan stated that he felt burdened working with masters in their field like Kim Jong-hak and Song Ji-na, as well as taking on the role of King Gongmin. Still he considers himself lucky for taking on such a role and feels that he won’t be able to meet another role or drama project like this one again.

Here is Lee Min-ho giving Ryu Deok-hwan a warm pat on the back on the last day of filming for King Gongmin. I’m going to miss the Gongmin and Young bromance so much.

Park Se-young picked the scene in episode 5 when she goes to argue with King Gongmin as her most memorable scene. She had to practice a lot for that scene because of the dialogue.

Ryu Deok-hwan picked two memorable scenes. The first one was when Gongmin changed out of his Yuan attire to Goryeo robes. The second one was when he comforts Noguk after the miscarriage.

Lee Min-ho picked his most memorable scene as the first time when Young and Eun-soo meet because it was the start and end of their story.

Kim Hee-sun picked every scene and every moment, while laughing 😀

You know the Woodalchi that Eun-soo last talked to at the inn in the final episode? It was a special cameo by the assistant director.

EDIT: Kind readers have shared the video with me. Thank you!

121102 SBS 열린TV 시청자 세상 – The Great Doctor… by meow1313

Sigh………………… I miss “Faith.”

It seems Lee Min-ho cut his hair immediately after finishing “Faith.” No more Young to be found but I love how cute he looks. Is it the shortest his hair has ever been? He looks so boyish!

Here is the song that one of our talented “Faith” fan (Sunshine) composed and wrote, and along with another fan (Pam Lee), sang. I’m completely humbled by every fans’ talent, enthusiasm, and love for this blog and “Faith.” Thank you.

Faith Fan-Girling

Faith Fan-Girling 신의 Lyrics
_________________________
Yeah I’m Faith fan girling
Leave me alone
I’m waiting for the live recaps
Can’t answer the phone
Hope no one sees me
Bawling my eyes out
Cause I’m with the fan girls at Joonni’s
Screaming, and Swooning
And trying not to shout

Writer Song we want a happy ending
If you fail rest assured
Ugly emails we’ll be sending

Softy’s fingers are Typing on the fly
Though she’s missing sleep
She’s loved by her peeps
For bringing Faith to us live
We’ve hit refresh a dozen times
To try to get the skinny
On Daejang, Imja, Woodalchis, Baddies
King and Queen-ee

We are in awe of Joonni and Softy’s writings
So insightful and eloquent
But dang our emotions feel spent
Yeah, we’re faith fan girling
We fan girls come from all over the globe
Sharing in our passion for kdrama-faith,
and Lee Min Ho

Lee Min Ho
We love you so
You make our hearts pitter patter
And when you fight, smile, speak or stare
We become like melted butter

Yeah we’re faith fangirling
Please give us a minute
We’re reading about time travel,
Goryeo, and Hwata’s third relic.
Read the forum threads.
Wished the bad guys dead
Watched our favorite scenes
and the in-betweeens
And Read the fan fiction
It’s totally official we’re truly addicted

Our hearts skipped a beat
When their lips did meet
Oh how we’ve waited for that kiss
In case you didn’t notice
We’re kind of obsessed
We went crazy when he grabbed her wrist
Ali’s “Carry On” is stuck in our head
We’re really, really tired and should go to bed.

We are in awe of Joonni and Softy’s writings
So insightful and eloquent
Yeah, we’re faith fan- girling
We fan girls come from all over the globe
Sharing in our passion for the Kdrama,Faith
and Lee Min Ho

We’ve been elated, heart broken and at times full of woe
But that’s the life of a fan-girl, don’t you know?

Many of you have asked about the next drama I plan to recap. I’m still on the search. Seeing that I basically give my all when I recap a drama, I’m going to have to choose wisely. I’ve been considering Park Yoo-chun’s “Missing You,” Park Se-young’s “2013 School,” and Park Shin-hye’s “Flower Boy Next Door.” I’m looking for something less emotionally draining so I’m not sure if “Missing You” is going to be the next one. Looks very weepy.

You guys also asked if I can translate or write something about the deleted scenes from the script of “Faith.” I’ll see what I can do. 😀

Oh, I went on a little trip to a place called the “Rim of the World” and while I was there the phrase “Heaven’s world” came to mind because it basically felt like I was on top of the world.  Hee. “Faith” is with me wherever I go.

Thanks for the Faith translations of the bts tidbits! I had wondered what it meant when LMH flapped his hands by his ears when I first watched it. Made me think of a reference to Disney’s Dumbo for a sec..does anyone know how that hand gesture came about to meaning easily swayed, or is really because of Dumbo? Lol. Btw- did anyone notice the moment(at 1:28) where Ryu Deok hwan bites his lower lip as he’s smiling looking at Se-Young? Looks like genuine nervous flirting to me. 🙂

P.S. Joonni, glad you were able to get away for a few days and enjoy that magnificent view! Hiking up a mountain is a little like watching a wonderful kdrama like “Faith”…along the beautiful journey you go through moments of pain, and then you reach the pinnacle, and it is all forgotten when you take in the view. 🙂 (the pic you posted reminded me of a 6 day hike near the Continental Divide the summer of my freshman year of college….exhilarating view…felt like the clouds were within reach of my fingertips!)

Looking forward to the next recap.

Sunshine, nicely done girl! The lyrics you composed are wonderful and your voices sound pretty. Nice teamwork Sunshine and Pam 😉

Btw, I also noticed that (1.28) hehehe I think he really likes her hehehe.

About LMH´s gesture… Hahaha. that was so cute and funny at the same time… He sure likes to do this kind of gestures. First he was applauding like a seal, now he´s flapping his hands by his ears like Dumbo. What are we gonna see next ? … LOL

“First he was applauding like a seal, now he’s flapping his hands by his ears like Dumbo. What are we gonna see next?” 🙂 Sussie, that made me laugh. Apparently he has the animal impersonations thing going on. Did you watch the clip Joonni posted about his CH interview for the Happy show? There was a super funny guy in there, who’s name should be”Buttons”, and anyhow they had LMH making faces for different emotions, and the way he would turn his head just so to “get into character” reminded me if a Llama. Lol.

Jooni, many thanks for translating those interviews and BTS. I love your last photo about that place called the “Rim of the World” … so beautiful, it seems so quiet, perfect to meditate and forget problems… the view is truly beautiful. Thks for sharing.
By the way, the first time I saw LMH flapping his ears, I didn´t understand but I was really curious about it. Thanks for translating that… so funny (like the time he applauded like a seal) hahaha.
I´m looking forward for more tidbits about the original script and BTS 😉 Jooni, your posts are like my bottle of “youngspirine” that helps me soothe my pain from the Faith´s withdrawal.

@ Sunshine and Pam, you have pretty voices 😉 Girls, you did a wonderful job with the song!! *applauding* *standing ovation*

  5. Joonni…. thank you for this!! This has been a difficult Monday without Faith. The song is so CUTE.. I was grinning to myself hoping no one noticed. Please keep the Faith alive, I can’t let go yet – I think this is my absolute favorite Kdrama, never been like this before. LOL.

Thank you Joonni, softy, sunshine and many others for the insightful views and sharing and the song really speaks for us. Because of you all I could enjoy and appreciate “faith” in a deeper level. Thank you so much and looking forward to your next recap, but i hope is not “missing you” though I like the actor and actress but i think the story seems whiny and weepy…

Hello, dear friends! I’m still in shock that Faith is over but my Faith high is still in full effect. Faith nostalgia is attacking my senses and it’s very distracting. I have “I am Woodalchi” OST on repeat in my head as I envision CY/LMH kicking some serious butt in all of his smexy glory… ***Furiously fanning self***

This experience with you all on Joonni’s blog has been incredible and unforgettable. Seriously, I am not sure my heart can withstand another “live” airing of any kdrama because it requires too much patience and I am a greedy fangirl who wants instant gratification 🙂

Thanks to the talented Sunshine for letting me sing in her awesome Faith fangirling anthem. She spent countless hours writing the lyrics, composing the music, singing, incorporating my singing and then editing the final song. It was so fun! *Glomps Sunshine*

    November 5, 2012
    • Sunshine #

I am Woodalchi has so much emotion behind it…I love that song. P.S. Did you see Minoz said they love your comments? I was thinking of seeing about having you made the honorary and official “comment comedian”. You have a natural knack for saying hysterically funny things. *glomps Pam back*
(and Pam, you know I was ecstatic to have you on the track! You are the singer. 🙂 Thanks for staying up late working on it!!!)

      November 5, 2012
      • Pam #

I am not a comedian…just too honest to the point of needing a muzzle at times…LOL! I saw Minoz’s comment but wasn’t sure if that was “THE” Minoz or just someone who used a fake name. *Bows* to Sunshine…resident lyricist, composer and singer extraordinaire 🙂

        November 5, 2012
        • Sunshine #

A muzzle? I’ll remind your hubs for the gag white elephant gift at Xmas for your stocking. LOL.

P.S. If one of my sisters saw that comment with just the word “singer” she would be bent over clutching her abdomen in total fits of laughter. Let’s tell it how it is Pam. I’m the 12 year old on the track, and you are the *real* singer.

P.S.S. For Faith’s one year anniversary wouldn’t it be fun if we could all fly to Seoul for a Faith Fan girl meetup?. I know some times dramas have fan meetings to keep promoting the drama…if they had one I think it would be a crazy fun time if Joonni’s Faithful’s showed up. 🙂

Thank you so much for keeping me sane during this show. The last show I really got into was Love Rain, but it wasn’t that emotional. Hopefully we’ll meet again when you decide on a show to recap. Might I suggest “King of Dramas”? It just started. I also can’t wait for Park Se-young’s new show as well.

can’t believe that this time last week I was waiting anxiously for your live recaps and nervously waiting to see the final episode. thanks for adding more for us to drool over and relive our Faithdom!!:) As they were talking about their favorite scenes, I can not help but think of one of my favorite scenes, …. the one where the Queen is found, ES comes out after checking her and CY, quietly walks in front of her, gently, grabs her hand behind his back…I thought it was the most…”wow”, “awwwhhh”, “scream in my pillow” kind of gesture…and that for me was the most defining moment of how rooted CY’s love was for ES. Someone posted in one of the threads, theirs was a love that did not need much words to describe, because you can just …feel it! AND, if they did say words, they were simple but with much depth or meaning…..eh, just missing Faith. alrighty then, back to re-watching the episodes to keep me sane until something else comes up….happy week all!!!

    Joonni,

Thanks for giving us a little more of “Faith”. I can’t get enough. Monday is just not the same :(. I take comfort in the fact that there are many, many of us who are deep in the mist of Faith withdrawl. Sunshine and Pam great job!!! You are both extremely talented. Thank yiou for sharing this with us. Softy thank you for all your hard work as well.

Joonni, I look forward to your next project. At the moment I can’t think of any drama that can take the spot of my beloved Faith but like you whatever I watch next I think I want it to be something a bit more light (and I dont’ say that because of Faith but because I don’t know if I can emotionally handle a melo drama).

Like many of you I’m off to re-watch Faith.

Another fan going to re-watch faith. I miss the drama badly. ;(

Jooni, Hats off to u for such a detailed and interesting analysis of Faith making my experience of watching it memorable. I have watched several dramas with coffee prince and Rich man poor woman (two of my fav.) yet with Faith it was entirely different . After finding ur blog accidentally, I have been coming here again and again just to find out what’s new about Faith and which other drama u r going to do. .

My days have not been the same since it ended but I have “Faith” in u. “Faith” that another chosen drama will be as interesting to watch (though I am sure not as interesting as Faith 😉 ). . Till then I gonna rewatch Faith in HD alongside Rich man Poor Woman to fill the void created. . 🙂

Yeah, raindrops 1, hurray to that. We are so into re-watching Faith.
And maybe there is just no point at all resisting withdrawal. Maybe this is the only way Minho connects with us or vice versa. Maybe withdrawal from Faith addiction is mch better than not having watched Faith at all. . . . All that philosophy & Socratic ways of thinking i learned in college I now apply – just to rationalize this engulfing Minho madness. Otherwise, methinks am crazy!

Waaaahhhh!! Monday nights have never felt so lonely! Thanks for coming to our aid in this painful withdrawal…. our general Faith-crack dealer!

Speaking of addictions… what will be our next crack of choice???? Hhhmmmm… I really love Yoon Eun Hye and Missing You is just about the only attractive drama I am seeing on the horizon. Can you deal this crack next? Please recap the first one(s) and if it fails to hook us in, then I’ll be with you in jumping off ship. @Pam and sunshine, my younger sister asked me to tell you on her behalf, that your song is great 😉
Btw, now that she knows that Faith had a happy ending, she decided to begin watching it. My sis betrayed me this time hahaha. She said to me that she would watch Faith only after knowing for sure that there is a happy ending (she didn’t believe to be emotionally prepared to a unhappy ending… Since she just saw a drama with a sad ending… I won’t say which one for not spoil at anyone)
Yay! I ‘ll have someone very close to me for continuing fan girling and daydreaming LOL 🙂

Thanks for compliment, Sussie. All credit goes to our talented Faith pledged sister, Sunshine. So glad you’ve converted your sister to a Faith fangirl…well, I hope she likes it. Several of my friends complained that Faith is slow in the begin and I just tell them to be patient and that the pace picks up in ep 6 when ES does CPR on LMH and the rest is history! And who can ever forget the Woodalchi march (to the OST “I am Woodalchi”) into the throne room—CY ‘s hot and angsty look…***SWOON***

Nop… you are reaching a no-return point… LOL. After watching CH and Faith, I cannot help myself but to keep thinking about LMH´s next project… since for each drama he seems to improve his acting and also he looks more and more handsome every time… *sighs*

          November 6, 2012

        • You’ll be swooning all series long, guaranteed! You’ll definitely get more than your money’s worth with CH!

          November 7, 2012
          • @ Classy / Gukja / CallieP

I now understand why you all recommended CH!!! Compared to Faith, LMH smiles alot in this show, he’s wearing tight tops rather than a metal armour! and there’s SHOWER scenes (note the pural!!) … I am a HAPPY CAMPER!!!

But honestly so far, I still prefer Faith… the chemistry is much better in Faith, even my mom who felt Faith was a little draggy preferred LMH in Faith….

However, LMH looked more cooler in CH – must be all the fancy hand / foot work in the fighting scenes…

How is he in Personal Taste? Any good???

            November 7, 2012
            • Sunshine #

His plentiful smiles in CH are charming, and I loved him in PT…his acting has definitely improved a lot since then. I enjoy watching anything he has made though. 🙂

              November 7, 2012
            • Classy #

He is okay in PT. Since it was his earlier projects his acting was quite um.. reserved and rigid..

But I would suggest you not see it..
Its not that great the drama,
              Defentily not after Faith..

Nutty, I watched PTaste & enjoyed some kissing scenes there, 😉

It isn’t as exciting as CHunter. Isn’t as magical as Faith. Isn’t as fun as BOF, yet, it was worth my time.

There’s always juicy deals to gain when it comes to MinHo, :-),
              good drama or otherwise.

Main door closed but the steps, (oh god, remember the steps!), and the door, everything outside – seemed everybody was free to loiter and just hang around.
Took lots of photos, right by the main door, the steps, the tree (remember), the corner, uphill driveway. We had a blast.
Wanted to stay there til tea time but we aphasia to give way to others who also wanted to sit by the steps.
My hubby had the most difficult time taking all the photos because it was late spring, almost summer, and we went around noon.
                It is in Bukchon.

            • Since BOF, I’ve seen all the dramas LMH starred in, so I’ve seen PT. Agreeing with Classy that LMH was definitely rough around the edges as that as it was one of his earlier project. To me, he was more of a ‘boy’ in PT, so I thought he was really cute and adorkable as opposed to Sexy Daejang. However, he did make me swoon and thud to the floor with that ‘game over’ kiss. That was HOT!!!

Nutty, I liked Personal Taste a lot. I would suggest you see it. If you like LMH, you will enjoy it. His game over kiss is hot, he is a great kisser and he has a bed scene with the female lead which is cute and you know for sure they had sex that night. It was not ambiguous like Faith.

              November 8, 2012

I did enjoy PT too. I would enjoy any show with LMH in it (excellent drama or not) 😉
I even had to visit that Sanggojae house to feel the spirit of the handsome Architect MinHo, long after the drama has ended.

I was hoping Faith would have a special episode like some other dramas since it was a great success online and internationally. However, I think there will not be one because LMH has cut off his Choi Young’s locks and he has a totally different look now. I think they probably believe it has been a failure because of low ratings so no special.

During his interview LMH talked about putting down his heavy weight and about harsh situations that cast and staff faced. That he had no regrets because he gave his best. I get the feeling that he somehow feels that he has failed but he tried his best and he is relieved that it is over so he does not have that heavy weight of failure on him any longer. Maybe he feels he is responsible for the low ratings that Faith received. What do you all think? I am very intrigued and troubled by that interview.

    November 5, 2012
    • Classy #

Technically speaking, most drama ride sloely on the leads if the story goes astray or something like that..
Moreover the role of Choi Young was not an easy one and its the first time for him to be doing something like this..
Besides the plot was huge and had to cover many fronts, so that made the direction and editing choppy.

But not many will feel that to be the reason..If a drma fails or has low rating the first to get affected if the hero and the heroine..
KHS already being very popular before and he is still a new to the fieild so yeah its obvious if he feels a little responsible..
Cant blame him, you put in your complete best and yet the results doesnt come to your satisfaction is always a bummer..

      November 5, 2012
    • joonni #

I haven’t read the interview you are referring to but from the BTS clips I think Lee Minho was pretty happy and satisfied with faith and its ratings. He didn’t seem to be to down about that.

      November 5, 2012
      • Sussie #

I hope you are right Joonni. I wouldn´t like that LMH, KHS or the rest of the cast feel down about Faith results. I hope they know that the ratings are only one part of all… and that there is a lot of people (like us) that we are quite satisfied and fond about this drama 🙂

        November 6, 2012
      • Apple Box #

Yes Joonni & all dear fellow Faithkeepers –
We hope LMinho doesn’t think Faith is a failure in any sense.
It told a story, it showed cast/actors dedication & efforts,
and it conveyed the message rather effectively.
        So, it is a success.
But the commercial part or ratings may have been down
because of too many time travel drama recently.

King2hearts did not do well too in ratings,
yet, I like it, many like it & many critical reviews deem it very good.

        November 7, 2012
  19. Ilana #

The TV ratings weren’t great but it was a mega hit online…hopefully LMH and KHS, the staff and the rest of the cast will be comforted by that. Everyone did a fantastic job despite the flaws…. And it showcased one of the best love stories ever…. Perfect perfect despite all the flaws of the two main characters. Correction – the best love story ever… It was epic in its simplicity…

LMH should be more popular after this… He was wonderful as choi young and it doesn’t hurt he looked utterly gorgeous and swoonworthy throughout. Hope he hasn’t developed a sageuk phobia after this, cos I think his physique, aura and face is pretty suitable for sageuk roles. Not counting that crazy charisma and sweet sexiness oozing from his every pore.

I was speaking to a couple of korean friends and they told me that though the tv ratings weren’t significant, they still thought it was a success because of its immense popularity online.

Gosh.. It’s so strange not to have my weekly fix of Faith. Usually I’ll search for a new drama to watch I finish one, but I can’t even be bothered to this time round. Don’t think there can be one as awesome and spell-binding as Faith.

    Sigh. I.Miss.Faith

note: Q&A of Korean netizens to Song Ji-na. Q&A event is closed now…

Q: I personally like the political part of the stories between CY & GM. However I think writer-
    nim, you did not distinctly
and clearly told that story and are you satisfied with it? What are the things that you wanted to express yet did not fully get to? Was GM’s image following the original plan?
A: No, the most changes made to it were the politics. If I write the novel, it would be the parts that I most want to fix.

Pls read the full text in the link above. But maybe our Daejang Joonni (w/ Softy) will have something to say about this? Mwah mwah!! 😉

  24. Joonni, I want to convey my appreciation for this remarkable post you put together for us. It gives me unutterable joy just reading it. Thank you for taking the time to translate some of the BTS. Oh how I love that LMH picked the first time when CY and ES met as his most memorable scene because it was the start and the end of their story. That right there says it all. Missing our Imja couple indescribably
    ***sighs and sobs***.

Your last line “Faith is with me everywhere I go.” Love that. Very true indeed. I haven’t recently taken a trip to a place as breathtaking as your trip to “Rim of the World” (btw…it looks so beautiful), but I feel like Faith is with me everywhere I go and in everything I do on a daily basis even now. I’m constantly listening to the OST no matter where I am (thanks to modern technologies like an ipod) and certain scenes of Faith would randomly pop into my head throughout the day. I’m even humming in the shower…ha.

And to Joonni’s prima donna (Composer Sunshine and Singer Pam), thank you for the incredible, hilarious and fun song! It’s so upbeat and soothing at the same time. I loved it when I had the honor of listening to it during the demo period. I can still remember the looks my co-workers gave me from across the room when I was dancing and giggling to it…hee. It gave me the same joy as I listened to it again earlier tonight. I was dancing and giggling like a fool once again. My co-worker that’s traveling with my also loved it and told me to let you girls know. Sunshine, love the lyrics. PAM, love your voice! Encore….Encore!!!!
***clapping like LMH’s seal clap*** LOL.

Thanks again, Joonni, for keeping Faith alive for us. We dote on you times infinity:).

Thank you for giving us a little more ‘Faith’ – I admit, I’m so suffering from Faith withdrawal syndromes and this post has helped to temporarily sooth the torture. I think all the actors performed well, and from the script tidbits, I would say that the original script was comprehensive and covered some of the loopholes, but because some parts of the original was removed, the drama became rather disconnected. As I reflected on why I’m so addicted to this drama, I realized that the love story is a little different from other dramas that I’ve watched so far. There is no annoying second leads scheming to break apart the OTP for romantic reasons, instead, the OTP’s dilemma was due to external reasons like politics and time-travel. For me, this is a somewhat fresh take on romance and our OTP has room to develop their feelings in a realistic, not contrived manner. This type of drama, I can’t get enough off… *goes off watch Faith from the start again*

Hey Girls! I can’t believe I go to bed earlier than usual and missed all the chatter. Made me reminiscent of how things were prior to the finale. Hope it is ok if I just write a combined reply here? Thank you…glad you liked our Faith-Fan-Girl-song! It makes my heart happy. P.s. scroll to bottom for itinerary.:)

Two weeks ago, after watching Faith, do you remember were most of you were at? The majority were discouraged feeling emotionally drained, in the depths of despair over the possibility of a sad ending, and the vibe in the forum was glum. Jokingly I mentioned writing a silly song to lighten the mood. Sussie, and Pam encouraged me, and you fan girls, Joonni, and Softy, and of course Faith (and LMH…uri dear Minho) were all the inspiration.
P.s. Pam, stop giving me credit, you worked on it very hard, and *most importantly *gave vocals.

Giving you all big, bug hugs. And I totally think we should meet up in Seoul next year.

      Itinerary:
Fly in, and meet up at hotel.
      Go eat some yummy spicy.
Go take pics like lunatics at all of the famous sights.
Go to SBS. Visit Faith set (great idea Joonni!)
Go to writer songs office and give hugs.
Go to the Faith Girl meetup
Bring walkers to keep Pam, Gukja,Classy, Nutty, Jhen, Sussie, ladyeury,Michelle, and all the gutterbuds from thudding to the floor(sorry for the names I can’t remember…who am I missing). (and brown paper bags so they can breath in to keep from hyperventalating)
      Go eat a yummy snack.
Go shopping, and buy gobs of Korean facial creams.
Go eat more yummy spicy food.
Have karaoke night and sing every song on Faith’s OST.
      Soju night.
Cross our fingers that no one needs to be piggy backed to the hotel.
Go to all the historical sights in our drama. Gangham here we come. Hee hee.
All Fan girls Break out in Psy,”Opa Gangham style”.
Laugh and giggle until we can’t breathe and our tummys ache.
Buy Lee Min Ho socks, and Auntie Choi tees and be spotted all over our hotel. hahaha
Eat more food. Get ready to pack and go home.
      Cry and give everyone hugs.
Take flight home, and watch every Ep of Faith back to back on the long flight home, and during layovers.

      What say ye girls????

Yes!! I know I’ve read in the past that some drama’s do promotional fan meetings months after the drama is over to keep the drama hype (didn’t they do this with BOF and Playful Kiss? Oh. I was thinking that you may be living near Korea considering your replies’s time. 😉
I’m far far away from Korea 😦 I’m from El Salvador (Central America).
So, it is a long flight to these countries :P. But I don’t care… hehehe

Thailand is a good place to visit..and i think LMH often visits that country..

                November 6, 2012
              • @Classy and Sussie. Hope you girls get to visit Thailand. It’s quite an experience. You’ll love it. Food’s great (if you love spicy papaya, etc.) too. Take an elephant ride and oooh…you have to get the massages after a long day of shopping and sight seeing. It’s really affordable. Just lay back and dream of hot Daejang while getting pampered!

That was a birthday gift from her husband. Since her husband has office in Soul/China & Japan. His work takes him over there 2 times a year or so!! So the trip is part work & pleasure for him..but she is doing additional for the Tour for 2/3 day. Not sure of all the details. But, I’ll find out from her Facebook or when she comes back in on 16th of Nov. I’ll keep you posted by email. She and I have been planning this last year, but it’s my job/company that’s gets in the way!!?? For sure. Next year for sure, we are going.

I don’t know about planning (lol) mor like initiating the idea. I think we should probably go through an actual travel specialist in Seoul maybe? Or maybe we’ll be fine finding our way around, Heehee. I am just smiling thinking about the trip!!! I I can assure you though I will take learning to speak Korean a bit more seriously between now and when we land in Seoul.

          • WendyM #

I got around in Seoul with English only. I probably helps saying few things in korean but overall everybody seem to understand English even at the small coffee shops (by the way coffee was bad in the 4 places I tried ….but the pastries were excellent)

            November 6, 2012
          • I went to Korea last year and planned the whole trip myself. I had the best time of my life! If you need help figuring it out and planning, let me know. Planning trips is my unofficial hobby. I got so excited because of Faith that I almost went for a visit now (but it did not work out).

I suggest you need not get any travel specialist. Just do lots of online research, gather lots of online reviews on good travel deals like plane, hotel, transport etc.

We did all that on our own. We enjoyed the KTX train, lots of train trips, lots of kimchi, bibimbap galore!!! And lots of Gangnam nightcaps & walks.

Watch Nanta too. So fun! And do lots of shopping, lots & tons of it ;-))

I wish I can join but work ties me down til nxt yr. But am happy for all of you.

Glad you like it. I don’t have the foggiest on the best time to go, if there will be a fan meeting for Faith/LMH any time next year, what hotels we should stay at…etc etc, but I do know that the thought has me super excited! I thought after I posted that I should prob run it by Hubs since he would have to watch the boys (LOL), and he said of course he wouldn’t mind, but wasn’t it weird to go to *another country* to meet up with fan girls when the main thing we have in common is Faith, and I said of course it isn’t weird!!! 🙂 My mom made her rounds texting and calling all her kids to make sure we had completed our civic duties and voted, and when I told her about the Korea trip, she was so excited for all of us, and thought it was a fantastic idea. Even said she would give me spending money towards the trip. 🙂

Oh, no. I’m already spending 2 weeks of work vacation for study abroad in Japan next year. Not sure if I’ll have vacation time left over for .S. Korea. While I am in Japan, I was thinking about “swimming” across the Sea of Japan to S. Korea because LMH is worth it but Seoul is still too far away—northeast region! Pooh!!! It’s best if LMH visits his fangirls in the U. S. 🙂

That sounds so cool!! What will you be studying in Japan?? When will it be? Hope you may see the famous and beautiful cherry blossoms in spring!
As I said to Classy, Japan is definitely one of my places-to visit in my wish list!

Absolutely! If LMH decides visit US… count on me… I don´t care in which city… I´ll be there! ha!

              @Pam
I visited Japan for 10 days this pass summer and went to Seoul for 4 days. Was really foggy all the time. I got a great airfare offer from Peach airlines from Kansai to Incheon (I wasn’t looking to see any actor just visiting the city. Food was good, good bulgogi and bibimbab…try the soju…. I did not try the spicy ricecakes)

WendyM, that’s awesome! Do you speak Korean or Japan? Trying to learn conversational Japanese.

                @Pam,
No Japanese. I am fluent in Spanish and English, understand some Portuguese/Italian. I tried to learn Mandarin and after 3 months pretty much only learn how to say hi, goodbye, order coffee, tea and beer plus to read numbers. it is very difficult. Good luck with the japanese lessons~

Ooooo Wendy, thanks for reminding me I want to try the spicy rice cakes. 🙂 I would love to visit Japan as well. If I could I would move to Seoul for a year, and then travel to Japan, China, and Thailand. My boys are eager to see the First Emperor’s Terra Cotta soldier dig site in China. They love archeology.

Thanks for being excited for me, ladies. I’ll be in the Osaka area for 2 weeks at the end of January for a leadership class. It’ll be winter so I won’t see the beautiful cherry blossoms. Due to the short trip, I’ll be close to LMH but yet so far away 😦 Maybe he’ll be in Japan the same time I’ll be??? I wish. I plan on taking the bullet train to spend a weekend in Tokyo, so if the fates are kind, you never know? I’ll be sure to buy any magazines that have LMH in it, because I heard he’s quite popular in Japan as well. My classmates might think I’m crazy but there’s no shame in fangirling, right? LOL!

BTW, Sunshine, forgot to say how cool it is that your mom supports your fangirling…my mom would roll her eyes at me and tell me to stop ditching my husband! LOL!

Well qho knows you might jsut be luck and LMH might choose that time to come to japan..

I just read on FB that LMH will be in Japan to promote a Semir store opening in December…!!! Gah! To miss him by only a few weeks. I hate you, time and space! 😦 I need to find him schedule for the next few months…anybody know where I can find that?

                November 6, 2012
              • How exciting, Pam! Maybe Daejang will there for some commercials or event at the same time. You never know ***wink wink***

My friend was there a few years ago and said that everything there’s expensive, so make sure you start saving up now (no more buying LMH socks…ha)! She said the street’s really clean. Also, she was stunned that you can buy cigarettes from a vending machine. Does that mean anyone, including minors, can just pop in some coins and smoke away?

Anyways, I’m so excited for you, gutterbud!!!!

            • Sunshine #

Chincha, Pam. Get a doctors note excusing you for general malaise (which would be true…you would feel uneasy knowing all your pledge sisters are in Seoul, and not being in the same city as LMH would result in being melancholy and feeling sick). Hahaha. OK. That is a total stretch, and it wouldn’t work, but can’t blame me for trying. 🙂

          • Sussie #

It is a fantastic idea! hahaha
Tell your hubby that there is another option: He accompanies you with your boys. My hubby also accompanies me with our baby-girl (next year she´ll be 1+ year old, old enough to travel HAHAHA). Our hubs meet each other and watch together our children during LMH/ Faith fan meetings hahaha (and they also may exchange their thoughts about how come their wives went crazy about a guy and a drama … LOL). After that all the fan meetings have ended, we may go all of us to a family trip around Korea. LOL Would you like it?

            November 6, 2012
            • Oh yes !! That it wonderful idea, a few days on korea with the fans of kdramas. Yeah we could speak all night of ours actors and which knows can be to cross them? Hi hi hi ^_^

              November 6, 2012
              • It might be the most fun idea ever!

Sussie, I thought your idea sounded like great fun, but I’m sure my hubs would prefer to babysit at home. 🙂

              November 7, 2012
            • Love your family plan, Sussie. Unfortunately, my hubby is like Sunshine’s whereas he would rather stay home and babysit. If I were to drag him along, he’ll just nag, sigh and pout the entire time. then i can’t enjoy fangirling with you gutterbuds, because i’ll have to take care of 2 kids (hubby and son)….LOL

@sunshine I LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE your idea of a trip. It would be awesome. So happy to see so many Faith and LMH fans. So comforting because everyone in my house thinks I’m a bit nuts…but I just tell them they don’t know what their missing.

Lots of hugs to you all!

Oh raindrops, you aren’t the only one! I mentioned the trip to my father-in-law tonight after dinner, and he looked at me dumbfounded…family have lovingly teased me about my kdrama obsession, but a trip to go with you all to Seoul…well he and his fiancee thought it was a bit crazy…no matter, my mom thought it was an awesome idea to meet up with all you girls. 🙂

Sunshine, I love your mom. She’s awesome. My mom even though she does not come out and tell me that I’m crazy, I feel does think that my obsession is a bit much. Yes, a trip to Seoul would be tons of fun who better to travel there with than with all of you gals. It would be awesome.

(that is if my hubby can take leave and care for my little one) I think I deserve some time off from being a full time home maker. We need to have beauty masks night too, Sunshine. Is it ever possible for us to meet the cast of Faith, especially LMH or KHS, I wonder. I shall drink juice while you girls drink soju. 😉 let me be the one with the clear mind to get you girls back to the hotel safely. Hehe

    Hi Jooni,
THANK YOU for everything you do for us here. I just watched this video, and I am wondering if you would be willing to translate for us at least some of it. This is a fantastic looking video of interview of our 4 bellowed actors. Thank you for considering doing it, I am so hopeful to understand what are they laughing about so much :).
