Hello everyone! It has been a while. I hope you guys are doing well. As for me, I am alive and well in South Korea.
My apologies for being MIA over the past two months. My visit to New York did not turn out as expected and it is taking longer than I predicted to settle down here in Korea. As I never approach writing even the simplest paragraph with ease, I was only able to periodically clean out the spam box and check in briefly to see the site was still functioning over the past two months due to the lack of mental and temporal leisure. If I didn’t reply to a specific question or request you left on another post, please accept my apologies and leave it here in this thread again.
Thank you to everyone who emailed me or left a message. I was both touched and ashamed by your concern and patience. You guys are seriously the best and I’m sorry for not being able to conquer my mental block to get back to writing for this blog. I wish I was one of those efficient and prolific writers but sadly, I am not. So thank you once again for your patience!
The only drama I’ve been watching regularly is My Daughter, Seoyoung and I watched the first two episodes of That Winter, The Wind Blows. It was surreal catching the episodes live here in Korea. My Daughter, Seoyoung has been the predictable weekend family drama fare- nothing spectacular but quite addicting- while the first two episodes of TWTWB left me excited about its prospects. It looks cold in Korea, doesn’t it, in that drama? Yeah, it is cold here. And it’s going to be cold for some time more. Why?!?!?
One of the best things about being in Korea was meeting Softy. Besides showing me the best places to eat, she let me know that the other Keeping the Faith post was getting too big. She “strongly” suggested that even if I couldn’t write a full post, I should at least make a new fangirling thread. Hee, Softy keeps me on track in so many ways.
I will be checking this thread often, I promise. I finally got a smartphone so I can be like everyone else here in Korea, constantly bent over the cellphone and ignoring the surroundings. Hee. I think I can even start watching my dramas on the smartphone. Hahahaha!

Here are recent videos from Hime Park. The first one has an English translation and once again it was done by our very own Daejang Joonni. 😛 (Kamsamida Joonni! :P) Although this one was short it made me cried for Daejang just watching this scene. Nonetheless, it’s beautiful and touching. I love it all.

i know conjie…didn’t think koreans make those kind of movies but it was very good, sad ending though. i’m amazed Song Ji Hyo did it. more power to her….JIS looks so much better now having gained some weight.

Omo Gukja, I shall never, never ever get over Faith. What is with this longing? I have now seen few kdramas, including LMH work, but nothing compares to this work. What art this is, it has possessed me so deeply. I have fallen in love with characters, language, country, it has turned my world so upside down, but in some most poetic way, it has made my life happy again, so healthy again, so blessed with all of you here, you are my beautiful yellow flowers garden from faith. I am so blessed, so I hope this addiction stays with me for the rest of this beautiful life. The most welcomed addiction. 🙂

Omo imja yogi so nice to hear from you. What are you doing these days? What are you watching? I can not wait for you to go to Korea, what an amazing place to visit, it really is like a grown up Disneyland but better. The people, I had such an amazing experience with people. So helpful, fun, infinitely fun, always laughing, helping me get around, inviting, omo, so much fun. Unbelievable. Just lovely. I love architecture, love tall buildings but never feel too crowded. Even if there are 11 million people one does not feel crowding at all. Just comfortable, almost family like feeling. Language, I could not stop smiling listening to uri gorgeous language, I thought I will look like lunatic at times since it makes me so happy to hear Korean language everywhere. The feel in the city is the one of constant movement and happening, you feel the past, present and future right in you and everywhere around you. Seeing all buildings and palaces, you feel like you are right there, centuries away and yet in the present. But the constant movement makes you feel like future is created right there in front of you and by just being there you are part of that creation. Oh, such an invigorating feeling. Korean people respect the things I respect, so it feels like coming home in many ways. AMAZING 🙂

Not a worry at all Imja yogi. I just went to a really nice lecture yesterday from a very prestigious scholar in South Korea Asan institute for public opinion and they are not worried. So I think this will blow over. When are you going again? I will be there in June again, can’t wait. I am ready 🙂
oh you’re so lucky…we’re tentatively planning on going early october. will visit relatives in phil first then stay with my co-worker for a week in korea. oh wait a minute…LMH will start his drama mid october, right? omomo…what are the chances we’ll run into him while filming, one in a million? i’ll take the one…LOL…

Yes, it had a happy ending. I did not think it too interesting though and she who must not be named is not that interesting either. I think Imja is way more fun but she got better reviews than imja. Poor imja, I really think she got a bum rap. Her acting was not appreciated at all.
@minozlove dear….i agree with callie. it had a happy ending in a confusing sort of way. many thought the ending was a dream. i was confuse myself for a minute. as for SHG nomination for TWTWB, she was not great, just ok. like callie had said, i also thought imja acted so much better. she did not even get nominated. aishhh….

So LMH is nominated for popular TV actor, not under the best actor category, that must be a bit frustrating as an actor I think. Park Se Young got nominated for Popular and Rockie TV actress. That is all according to that page for the nominations for Faith!
so i guess this award is centered more on films than tv series. still KHS did not get any nomination. only PSY got nominated for FAITH. the popularity award is really meaningless. it does not recognize one’s acting skills. 😦

Werewolf Boy is a good movie. So this boy was a product of scientific experimentation that led hi to be a werewolf. When the scientists managing the experiment dies, this boy was left to fend for himself. he wass left in this barn which was used for the experiment. The house and barn was sold and a ingle mom with 2 daughters moved in. they discovered the boy and took him as their family. So the story revolves around that plot. It is not a tragic ending but not a happy ending either. But it is a touching movie.

FilChiNY and WendyM, it looks like KHS is not popular enough even with Faith as she did not get in the popularity list while PSY did.
I wonder if fans voted or the drama industry critics did. Does anybody know how the voting works for popularity awards?
I am okay with the best drama and the best actor nominations. It looks like they went for the critically acclaimed dramas and the actors look more mature and older, not of the popular actors or flower boys like Song Joong Ki, Lee Siong Gi, Lee Min Ho or Mickey Chun.
They did not have a best couples award either.
However I really do not think Song Hye Gyo deserves the nomination for the wind that blows. I saw the drama and I did not think her acting was anything special, to me she had the same expression, the whole time , she looked beautiful and that is all I can say. KHS did so much better as Eun Soo. I can’t understand the nomination. I do not know the other actress nominees so I cannot comment about them.

I’ll add what I wrote to the email since it is a good conversation: Faith related.
I gave up on my expectations for Korean awards. I obviously like things that are not mainstream and easy to digest .I am also feel bad for Lee Min Ho to be only considered for popularity (I am sure he knows he is popular so what?) and not seen as a best actor?. If I was him I probably will be a little annoyed. I do however think the older gentlemen of “The Chaser” deserves the recognition since I saw “The Chaser” and he performed very well. But still for a person like LMH (relatively young actor) would have been an honor to be nominated at least even if he lost.
About the woman nominations. I believe KHS acting gave a complex range that even w/o subtitles she could move me to tears, so I feel sad for her to have a comeback so good and be ignored. I seriously think the whole system is retarded. Once you reach the peak of your career they become too old? I hope Noguk gets something but I almost doubt it seeing how they do think so far…. I think they’ll go for popularity/beauty and not talent. In other words: bimbos award should be the new name. I am ok with it now.
I hope nobody takes offense by my words above, just my 2 cents 🙂

Yes CallieP, I don’t think KHS is popular in the industry. I forgot where I read an article that when she was stil very active before shetook a 6yrs hiatus, that she was a difficult actress to deal with. Maybe Softy or Joonni can confirm this for us.
So yes that and the low ratings Faith got allowed the industry to bypass her. This is just my opinion.But I am guessoing more on her reputation and her 6yrs. absence that derailed her nomination because the drama series that were nominated were not really high on the ratings as well. So popularity and age still played a role which is really very disappointing!
I do hope PSY win. She did a great job playing Noguk! Hell, all of the cast played their roles reeally well! I mean what other drama can you say that you like alll the cast even the baddies?! No other . Evn the most hated character DH for all his cowardice and betrayal is still bearable because he is pleasing to the eye. 🙂 And GC, how can you not like him even if he is a baddie, just the facial expressions can send you ROFL! So yes, at least one of them should be nominated in each category!

Okay to all the Faithlings and Minoz, our very own Conjie was able to finish editing the video during LMH fan Meet in LA. I must say SHE DID AN AWESOME JOB! CallieP shared with us taht the translator’s voice was so soft that she can barely hear her and she was THERE! But the AWESOME Conjie was able to make the audio in this videa clear and audible.
To the minoz here, you will be THRILLED to hear him say I Love You. 🙂 So watch but please NO FAINTING! If you must, then make sure you are in bed when you watch the video 🙂

FilChiNy, I wouldn’t worry about “Minozlove”, I sent her a long version copy of the whole Toyota ordeal/function..more pictures at the end w/ CallieP. Toyota Promotional was about a little over 30 minutes..had to cut out a lot cuz of that guard’s head was alway’s in front or I got push too much!!

It’s been a month since I returned from Seoul. I uploaded some of the photos I took during my travel. There I got to meet Joonni and Softy who showed me great friendship and Seoul under a different light. It was a wonderful trip and I treasured the moments with Joonni and Softy, the help I got from Minozlove and FilChiNY, getting lost and finding my way, bus rides and coffee with Softy, the unintended k-drama moments, and the Goryeo celadons at the museum. Thank you Joonni and Softy. Hope to see you again. Thank you Minozlove and FilChiNY. Hope to have the chance to meet you. The Faith certainly did brought me more than just a k-drama experience. I have new friends.
And Joonni, thanks for reminding me that ‘a tree is just a tree’…(from the dead to the living)

As for the allergies, welcome to the club! I’ve been on meds for 2 weeks now. Not only do I have the sneezing fits, I also have skin allergies.

The Faith already started on one of the paid local channels last week. I don’t have this paid local channel. There were no promotions at all despite popularity of the leads. It is so quiet! The woman who cannot be named, however, will be coming at end of June to promote This Winter the Wind Blows. Now why is that? SBS, local channel, LMH and KHS seem not as excited as us faithlings around the world. A little bit sad. But faithlings keep the faith.
I don’t really understand it either Geneva, it is like they all just want to move on. But I totally love Faith, and all of you I met so it is all good by me, I still watch it all the time :):):)
